MY NOTE:  If Beadford House is Bradford House his age should be 58; if Sarah H. House is Sarah Ann House her age should be 51.  Doele House is a typo - should read Odell House (Cora Odell); Ernest is correct except for the Hoese should be House; Ida House might be Rebecca Eldora (Endora) House who was born in 1864 in Illinois not Missouri.  Seems to be a horrible job of either enumerating or transcribing the census - am not sure which - found horrible mistakes with the Michael Farrell family also - just not quite as bad.  Would love to see the census myself - this transcription was obtained at Ancestry.com.  vlww

Smith Anna M., w/o Frederick, d Jan 8, 1874, 39y 3m 13d
(Note: Melvin Allen reports that Eveline was the dau. of Stephen and Anna Maria Herrington.) Stephen Herrington died in Mississippi during the Civil War, and Anna Maria remarried a neighbor boy after the war; Henry Harpster who is buried in Yankee Hollow Cemetery. He is the Harpster, Henry K. Co F 92nd Ill. Vol. Inf. listed in your records. Henry Harpster died about one year after they were married, and Anna Maria became a widow again. Henry was captured and spent a lot of time in Andersonville, and was a broken man when he returned from the war. Anna eventually remarried a third time to Frederick Smith, and died in 1874 and is the Anna M. Smith listed in this cemetery. I am her great grandson.

I would be happy to share any info I have with you, however, I am not sure what info you have. I would be glad to send you the book I published about 8 years ago. It has the diary of Daisy Herrington (daughter to Ransom T). In the diary it talks about their experience homesteading in Nebraska with the Houses'.  The Williams' branch goes back to the Mayflower. A lot of this info I gave to Melvin Allen. I have sent him a letter a few months ago, but not received any communications from him.  I think in your last email you indicated you got some of your info from him. Did he give you "The Descendants of Ransom House and Laura Williams House?  I have a photgraph of Sadie House (grandma House- I think it is Sarah House). It was given to my parents when they visited some relatives in Ansely, Ne. In my book is a picture of Anna Mariah House. About 12 years ago I visited Jo Daviess County, Illinois. I found the cemetary that Anna Mariah, and Ransom/Laura House are buried. I also have newspaper articles on the "House Family History" - It talks about Bradford House, Belle, Levert, Ernest. Another newspaper article on the "Farrell Family" (Is this your branch?)  Let me know what info you need....I like your quote....."A life is not lost when it is known to future generations." author unknown        Do you have any info on the Herrington's?    Gary Herrington gaherrington@earthlink.net
