Many people say that the Bible is outdated and that the rules don't apply in the 90's.The book of Titus corrects this idea. It is written in Titus 2:12 "...denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world." The key phrase being 'in this present world'. In the year 10 B.C. the Bible applied to the people, in the year 10 A.D. the Bible applied to the people, in the year 1900 the Bible applied to the people and in the year 1998, the Bible applies to you and I and everyone else on the face on the earth. People have ignored Biblical principles for so long that some are beginning to believe that 'times have changed things'. 'Times' havechanged but the 'Bible' hasn't, and it never will. It's things like the fact that there are more divorces than marriages that lead people to believe that it's okay in the 90's. Yes, it's a true statistic but as we are told in Corinthians 7:10-13 and most clearly in Matthew 5:31-32, divorce is wrong, period. Just because many people have fallen prey to this particular disobedience doesn't mean that you and I have the right to do it too. At least not if our goal is to please the Lord. And there will come some who say "Well, there are circumstances in which divorce is okay." And I suggest reading the whole of 1Corinthians 1-40. Put your trust in the Bible, not in what people say. For the Bible is our Holy resource which God said Himself, that He holds above His name. The Bible escapes time. This is confirmed again in Isaiah:
