What does it mean to be honest in Christ? I have examined this and most of my conclusions stem from the errors I have made. Perhaps there is something you can learn from this...

Honest in Christ means, not taking the credit for a good deed, but knowing that the only reward needed is that of pleasing the Lord.

Honest in Christ means, not doing a good deed to make yourself feel like a better Christian.

Honest in Christ means, not diluting the gospel to 'win souls'.

Honest in Christ means, not delaying; like when you know you should do the right thing, but put it off until 'later'.

Honest in Christ means, not being too self-conscious or even embarassed to call yourself a Christian in front of anyone .

Honest in Christ means, practicing what you preach. Jesus hated hypocrites!

Honest in Christ means, living up to your title. (by doing this behavior, do I deserve to be called a disciple of Christ?)

Honest in Christ means, not seeking your own end; (always saying 'what's in it for me?')

Honest in Christ means, taking the responsibility of applying the truths of the Word in your life.

Honest in Christ means, not ignoring the truths which will upset your current living pattern, but confronting them and applying them immediately.

Honest in Christ means, not choosing your words carefully. (have you ever re-worded or interpreted a section of scripture in a way that was to your advantage instead of His?

Honest in Christ means, loving what you do. What good is a clown that isn't happy? would that clown create a lot of smiles or would you see him as a fraud? Don't fake what you do, be glad in the Lord and your gladness will shine through!

Honest in Christ means, being obedient. Think about the title 'a servant for Christ'. A servant obeys his master no matter what the command. Is any master more worthy of obedience than Jesus Christ our Lord?

Honest in Christ means,not looking out for #1. In our world, everybody wants to be #1 at something; whether it be the best guitarist, the hardest worker, the strongest fighter, the most beautiful model. And yes, our goal should be #1, but not for the recognition we will receive, but for the glory He will receive when we strive to be His #1 servant.

Honest in Christ means, confessing all sins. Sometimes a phrase will be repeated so many times it loses it's meaning. Such is the case with confession, repentance, and forgiveness. Never assume that the Lord will read your thoughts and know you are sorry. It is written that you must confess with your mouth, repent with your heart and your hands, and all will be forgiven you. Such sweet mercies should not be taken in vain.

Honest in Christ means,pleasing Christ first, helping others second, and 'treating' yourself last.
