Ike Goes Right Out the Window
After what seemed like Kait and I had knocked on Tay and Zac's door for an hour,
Zac finally opened it. His face was all red and he looked like he was crying.
"Zac, what's wrong? Are you crying??" Kait asks as she rushes into their room and
gives him a hug.
"Yeah," he says, hugging her back gladly.
"Why?" she asks.
"'Cuz Ike was opening the window and Tay pushed him and he flipped out!" Zac
bursts out laughing and is pretty soon on the floor crying.
When we heard what had happened it was hard not to laugh. Before we started
laughing so hard we were crying, I ask, "Is he okay?"
"Yeah, he's laying in the grass going OW! OW! but he's fine!" We hear Tay say,
he's laughing too, "Come in!"
"Hi," I say, composing myself and sitting beside Tay on the floor.
"Hey, how's it goin?" He says, before he starts laughing hysterically again. Kait,
being the nice person she is, goes over to the window to see if Ike's okay, but he's
suddenly disappeared.
"Hey, wanna go to the dance with me on Saturday?" Tay asks me, finally calming
down.
"Yeah sure, I didn't even know there WAS a dance."
"Yup, the only reason I know is that we went to the rec. house to find Ike this
morning and we saw them decorating it and we asked them what it was for and they told
us. Oh, and guess who Ike was with when we found him?? He was SO involved with her,
he forgot all about practice!"
"Abby? How do they know each other?"
"They went out for two years when Ike was 13 and 14 and then she moved away,
and he hasn't heard anything from her for three years."
"But I thought you guys never had girlfriends before?"
"Ike didn't want us to ever mention her, he's never been the same since she
moved."
"Hey, where did everybody go now??" I look around the room to find that
Zac and Kait are gone.
"I don't know..."
"Do they always leave you?"
"Not usually, but Ike used to do that all the time when he was going out with
Megan, I mean Abby, before, and Zac has never liked anyone as much as he seems to like
Kait."
"I see. What do you want to do today?"
"You wanna go to the mall in town?"
"Sure, but won't you get recognized, and do you really want to be seen with
me?"
"Of COURSE I'll get recognized, but oh well, and I think it's about time I had a
girlfriend without worrying about the public." He stands up and pulls me to my feet. "Let's
call a cab."
