Mom

"You guys, there's a warning on the TV!!" I exclaimed.
"SHHH!!" Despite Kait's attempts to quiet me, Zac was awakened. he looked up, saw me, looked at Kait, and cuddled back into her arms. "Zac, Baby, let's go in the other room. This floor's killing my ass."
"Okay." He moved out of her arms and she stood up. "I'd carry you, but you're bigger than me. I'll help you." She helped him stand, and he wrapped his arms around her waist. He layed his head on her shoulder, and she put her arms around him. She led him into the other room. "Do you wanna sit on my lap, or lay down in your bed?"
"Can I sleep on your lap?"
"Yeah." They went over to the chair and Kait sat. Zac curled up on her lap and layed his head on her chest. I sat on Tay's bed and Kait motioned for me to be quiet until Zac fell asleep. It didn't take more than a minute before he had dozed off. "Okay," Kait whispered, "What were you saying now?" She was gently stroking Zac's hair.
"There's a severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch until 12:30."
"Really? What time is it?"
"It's 55 minutes to 7." (That's how Airi tells time.)
"Oh. So we have like, 6 1/2 hours of crappy weather? That sucks. Are we gonna stay here?"
"Probably. Has Tay come here at all?"
"No. I thought he was at Abby's or something."
"I checked there, her and Ike said he hadn't come."
"Hmmm.... I wonder where he could be."
"Prob'ly in the storm." Zac muttered sleepily.
"Sorry Baby, did we wake you?" Kait asked.
"No, I woke myself."
"Are you feeling any better?"
"A little. I have to pee."
"You can get up." He sat up slowly.
"Come with me?"
"Sure." They got up and Kay turned to me. "Be right back." They went into the bathroom and shut the door. Kait sat on the sink, and Zac started to pee. Kait leaned against the wall and watched him, kicking her bare feet against the pipes. When Zac got done peeing, he flushed the toilet and shut it. Then he sat on it and stared at Kait.
"You need to wear that outfit when I'm not sick." Kait smiled.
"Why?"
"Cuz I need to kiss you, and I'll puke if I do now."
"I make you puke, thanks," Kait said jokingly.
"You know what I mean."
"Yeah. All you wanna do is kiss me?"
"Well, no." Zac curled his legs up and layed his head on the back of the toilet.
"Doesn't it hurt you to sit like that?"
"Yeah."
"Then why are you doing it?"
"I don't know."
"How about we go in the other room?"
"Okay." Zac slowly stood up.
"Do you want me to find some medicine for your stomach?" Zac shrugged. "I'll find some. And you're gonna lay down while I'm gone." She went over and hugged him lightly. Zac layed his head on her shoulder.
"I don't want you to leave me."
"If you want me to even THINK about letting you go to LA tomorrow, you're gonna do EXACTLY what I tell you."
"Okay. MOM." Kait smiled.
"Come on smart aleck." She put her arm around his shoulders and they walked out. "I'm gonna try and find some medicine. I'll be back in a minute." Kay told me. I had blankly been staring out the window waiting for Tay. Kait made Zac sit in the chair and she hauled his mattress down from his bed. She layed a blanket on it and turned the corner over. "Zac, lay here." He crawled in and she tucked him in. "Air, don't let him move."
"Okay."
"What if I have to throw up?"
"If you look like you're gonna hurl, I'm sure she's not THAT much of a buttmunch, where she won't let you go to the bathroom." Zac smiled weakly at her. She kissed his cheek. "Stay."
"Ruff." She ruffled his hair and left. I flipped on the TV and Zac and I started to watch Eye Spy.
