INTERNATIONAL ROCKETRY WEEK,
IRW2003
(LARGS, SCOTLAND)
Time was upon us again for another IRW. Our first IRW was back in 1995. This year we would have a few new rockets to fly. The upscale Estes Commanche 3 may even have been the first 3 stage composite rocket to fly in the UK? (if it had worked!). Images below are a small collection of the event.
This would be the last year for the Rover Vitesse. Weather was not too bad this year too.
David and the Haribo rocket on 3 x D12-3's This had one 'spectacular' flight! |
|
Mark enjoying the sunshine and getting ready to fly! |

Andy and Sean trying to figure out how to load the motor. |
Oopss! I think the closure is supposed to stay in the rocket. |
|
David and his Asrocam. |
David and his Firebolt before it's last flight on a I300T. Dad forgot to load the BP...........Doh................. Martin and David on the right examining the wreckage. |

Great flight of Sean's upscale Estes Thunderhawk on a J motor. |

Me and Sean getting ready to fly. Sean on a Hypertek J (only part filled on the pad so lack of altitude) me on a kick but J570 (love that motor or what!!) |
|
Left is my IRIS that flew on a 54mm J (this rocket has had loads of flights now). Above my boost glider before it was lost forever! |
|
The upscale Estes Commanche 3 on a H to G to F. Dame.......only the H worked.......... |
