Dear Rachel, please convey to Jerusalem Mayor Barkat,
Thanks to Gil Garcia for his advice to further the mission of Santa Barbara’s open source Global Peace Pole for Jerusalem to unite its three faiths in peace worldwide.
Based on your advice and his, for quicker results, let us forgo attempts to associate Santa Barbara and Jerusalem under auspices of Sister Cities International.
Instead it is proposed for the Mayors of Santa Barbara and Jerusalem to join with handful of other city mayors since 1995 who have proclaimed their cities as a Global Peace Zone in respect of our United Nations 50th anniversary Global Peace Walk mission promoting “Global Peace Now!” as the universal human resolve needed to accomplish that goal.
By each city installing one of the Global Peace Poles symbolizing the Message of Peace, and each city mayor proclaiming their city as a Global Peace Zone City, what a wonderful precedent and example for other cities around the world.

Our upcoming May 5-6 events in Santa Barbara are a reference for such next mayoral proclamations of Santa Barbara and of Jerusalem as fellow Global Peace Zone Cities.
I have requested our Mayor Cathy to offer another proclamation this time proclaiming Santa Barbara as a Global Peace Zone City in reference to our May 6th UCSB Tree of Peace Ceremony.
If she agrees, I will copy its text to you and after you see what happens here May5-6, please give your kindest timely consideration to issuing such a mayoral proclamation of the municipality of Jerusalem as a Global Peace Zone.
The Rainbow Uprising of Consciousness lattice structure which displays the Global Peace Pole has a sacred geometry design and is a free and open source experiment in the human hive.
The proposal here is to also install a Global Peace Pole in East Jerusalem where it is being awaited at the Peace House of Ibrahim from the Abrahamic Reunion and Jerusalem Peacemakers.
If this idea is acceptable in principle to those concerned, then plans can be put in motion to fund exchange visits by mayors and community delegations.
Daniel Garden might be a good place for installing a Global Peace Pole in Jerusalem with the display lattice?

Please accept my thanks once again for the marvelous proclamation you issued for, and read at, our March 11th UCSB Tree of Peace Ceremony conducted by Jose Munoz.
I was particularly appreciative that you covered all the points I requested in my draft proclamation suggestion, and with your KCSB News and Public Affairs Director experience it was wonderfully worded.
Your ceremony participation and proclamation have made an important contribution and impact in support of our efforts to bring to the US President the Message of Peace represented by the Tree of Peace.
Within days after our May 6th final Spring 2018 UCSB Tree of Peace Ceremony, again conducted by Jose Munoz this time, we who are ready will set off and promote our Great Spirit Relay events across country carrying your peace message to deliver to the President with the 12mi Peace March to The White House on August 29th to offer the Santa Barbara Global Peace Pole for the White House along with the Message of Peace it symbolizes, for planting across the street in Lafayette Peace Park Ceremony on August 30th.
Since 1997 a few other Santa Barbara Mayors before you have issued for me their proclamations in support of the Global Peace Walk project promoting “Global Peace Now!” as the universal human resolve.
Some US city mayors, starting with Taos NM in 1995 and since then including Mayor Willie Brown of San Francisco, have proclaimed their cities as a Global Peace Zone in support of this Global Peace Walk project now headquartered in Taos NM, initiated by my close friend and colleague since 1978 the Zen Buddhist Monk Yusen Yamato who first conducted the ecumenical peace pole ceremony in the United States in 1978 when I met him, to appropriate and adapt into modern society its 2200 year old tradition of eliminating warfare and violence as symbolized by its message of peace - the Na Mu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo global peace mantra from the land of great harmony.

There was an exhibit of the prototype model Global Peace Pole, at the Isla Vista Earth Day Event Apr22, set in People’s Park just south and adjacent to Anisqoyo Park and the old Bank of America building that was burned down during Vietnam era protests, the building now owned by UCSB.
This Global Peace Pole model was the centerpiece inside a new copy made of the Rainbow Uprising of Consciousness “Timestar Lattice” open source human hive experimental meditation structure, as featured centering the 2018 Rising Dawn Lucidity Festival’s Mayan Calendar installation representing the Sacred Sixth Sun Cosmic Calendar for the 26,000 year period begun December 21, 2012, on its way to the Summer Solstice Gathering at Standing Rock Medicine Wheel Living Park, June 22-24.

In 1978 Reverend Nippashi introduced Hopi Interpreter Thomas Banyacya to his master Nichidatsu Fujii, founder of the Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Order whose practitioners use the drum while chanting the Na Mu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo universal medicine word global peace mantra also taken up from Nichidatsu by Gandhi.
The first day’s walk will start with a Noon Circle at the President Jimmy Carter Center in Atlanta, then walking a mile to the Martin Luther King Center on the way to the White House Aug30 to offer the White House Global Peace Pole Ceremony there, after the second White Buffalo Days Spiritual Unity Summit Aug20-28, encamped at Greenbelt National Park a city bus ride from the Capitol. The world today is plagued by wars and violence attributed to certain misguided followers of the faith of Islam. This situation may actually be relieved by your acceptance of this proposal which has already been accepted by the Islamic champion of nonviolence and unconditional love, Ibrahim Abu Al Hawa with the Jerusalem Peacemakers and Abrahamic Reunion organizations fostering harmonious relations between the three faiths of Jerusalem.
Ibrahim has agreed to receive one of these open source Global Peace Poles developed over the past several years, for installation at his Peace House in East Jerusalem.
If you agree to also receive one of these peace poles for installation there at an appropriate place near Jerusalem City Hall, perhaps at a site in Daniel Garden, this would be seen as a powerful gesture of support for the message of nonviolence and spiritual unity, and may actually help ameliorate the violence in today’s world associated with the faith of Islam as its followers see the better way demonstrated by Haj Ibrahim.
Some of the commonalities between Santa Barbara and Jerusalem include the fact that Santa Barbara was the capital of California under Spanish rule before it became part of the USA, while of course Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and also one of the holy cities of Islam and Christianity.
California and Israel are both advance technology leaders.
By connecting in this manner the 100 year old Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the flagship University of California campus in Santa Barbara, we may be able to overcome the US government dual-use secrecy classification of advanced technologies now used for military purposes but which have critical civilian applications, such as superior “free energy” alternatives to nuclear and fossil fuel power, amelioration of radioactive wastes and dangers such as resultant from the Fukushima disaster, pure water technologies etc, that may only become available for civilian use as war and the threat of war become a thing of the past.
