“When the moons touch the ground and the heavens shake, the glory from the past ages shall reveled to the deserving. The spirit will be freed, the warrior, the sage, the traveler, and the beauty will free us thrice times.”
For a while the punishment worked, and the dragons worshiped the High One as they should. Then, as time passed, they forgot the old ways. They went their own ways and forgot the High One. For three million years war raged, and chaos ruled over the land.
Then, a great red warrior dragon, a blue, destined to wander forever, the wisest of the gray, and the most beautiful of the silver dragons brought joined their powers and brought peace back to the land. Very few realized that they were the saviors of whose coming the dyeing dragon had foretold.
The grays came to power, telling all the others that they would keep the peace that had been begun by the four. None of the others argued, anything that would bring peace made them happy. To help them keep the peace, the grays decided to create a new race of beings, ones who would have some of the powers of the dragons themselves, yet would be slaves of a sort to them. So was begun the race of Igmo.
Each dragon race created its own type of igmo, having needed to only be shown by the grays how to do so once. Each race of igmo had its own special powers, given to them from the dragon race that gave them birth. The White Igmo race was given the power of physical strength, and great endurance of cold. The Reds were given power over heat energy and fire. Blacks were given the power of astral projection because, like their dragon counterparts, they wished to do evil, and spy on the others. Green igmos were given the power to make green things grow, the Blues were given the power to move and create with their mind. The crystal dragons lent their beings the power to control light waves, and the Sliver Igmos were given ability to morph into any form imaginable or none at all. The Gray Igmos were given the greatest set of powers of all — they were a form of Igmonian wild card whose race had a small measure of the ability of all the other races.
All of the igmo and dragon races lived in harmony, the igmos serving their dragon masters faithfully, until the black igmos decided that they were above all others and called down an evil race called the Nephium. These nephium gave the Blacks the power to capture and control both the dragon races as well as the other igmo races. The nephium built a huge tower fifteen miles into the sky to hold all the other igmo races, and for twenty years no igmo was allowed to speak, for a word uttered would mean death.
The igmo captives prayed to the High One to save them from their struggles, hoping He would listen, and fearing that He would ignore their plea. He listened, and sent to them a Blue who would set them free. This Blue, named Jaa’Raphsy, rallied the igmos together and freed his kind as well as the dragons. The war killed many on both sides, but the long forgotten taste of freedom was well worth the deaths. The nephium were sealed in a crystal sphere, forever to be bombarded with light from a green star. This light would not kill them, only put them in extreme pain. The white dragons and igmos guard them even now, and the Blacks are still hated for their evil deed.
Slowly, over time, the gray igmos became more powerful than even the gray dragons, and began to take over the government of the planet. Each society had it’s own ruler, but when worldwide matters came up, it was to the grays that all would go seeking advice. The Igmo society became somewhat of a feudal society, but without a true monarch, just a number of high ruling families. I am descended from one such family, the Fallen House of Re`chas’ado.
