FACULTY FETE: One of the major benefits of living in Los Angeles is that you're always thisclose to the glitterati. Just ask Seventeen's West Coast CorresponCoast Correspondent, Eliza Bergman Krause—she's constantly rubbing elbows with the beautiful people. Eliza recently hung with the cast oKevin Williamson/Robert Rodriguez flick, The Faculty:
"A gaggle of young girls from Sydney, Australia, were among the crowd at Planet Hollywood last Friday waiting patiently for the arrival of the cast from the horror film The Faculty. The ladies from Down Under were dying to lay their eyes on stars Elijah Wood and Josh Hartnett ('This is the biggest thing in our lives,' one of the Aussies gushed). As soon as Elijah and Josh appeared with cast mates Clea DuVall, Laura Harris, Shawn Hatosy, Robert Patrick, writer Kevin Williamson and director Robert Rodriguez, the fans surrounding me screamed at glass-shattering pitches.
The actors presented Planet Hollywood with a maroon and gold cheerleading costume from the movie to the restaurant's moovie memorabilia collection and in return received Planet Hollywood sweatshirts. Elijah and others tossed the shirts into the crowd, which was a nice gesture, but not a smart idea. Everyone went nuts—all those sweet girls began pushing and shoving in a frenzy to get their hands on one of the shirts. Now I know how people get trampled at rock concerts and sporting events.
Despite the ongoing cacophony, I was able to ask some of the actors: What would you like to find under your Christmas tree this year?
'I want Shawn Hatosy for Christmas,' answered Clea, without hesitation.
'I'd be stupid not to say Clea DuVall,' responded Shawn.
'I want both of them under my Christmas tree,' announced Elijah.
'I want a scooter,' confessed Laura.
Since the movie opens on Christmas, I assumed Rodriguez—who's just as cute as his cast—would tell me he wanted Santa to bring him box office gold. Wrong. 'I feel so blessed already,' the expectant dad said. 'I just [want] to have a healthy son.'"
