His mate is Zira and apparently Nuka and Vitani are his cubs, though this is not sure. (One thing is for sure, Kovu is NOT Scar's son, it's pointed out VERY CLEARLY in SP.: ))
Scar is Simba's uncle and Mufasa's younger brother. He wants to be the king of Pride Rock but as long as Simba and Mufasa are around, it's impossible. That's why he decides to get rid of them both...
