BMW M3 Sports Wagon (2-door)
As BMW will be introducing the new 3-series (E46), first as a sedan and later on as different variants, it's a known fact that the coupes and convertibles will remain in production until replaced by the newer generation cars. That means that the M3 will be probably limited back to 2-door coupe and a convertible as the new sedan won't be initially sold in the 'M' badged version... The coupe is greatly limited in utility comparing to the 4-door so here is a somewhat unusual approach on expanding the utility of the M3... How about a low and sleek sports wagon (often reffered to as bread van look)... It's been done before and a car that was unusually popular for such a bizarre modification was the old Jaguar XJ-S. As in the case of those modyfied Jaguars the M3 Sport Wagon isn't a true cargo hauler... It's just a stylish and high performance way of getting all your golf gear to the country club... Now, enjoy the pictures and you should know that there is probably someone out there who would be able to modify a M3Coupe into such stylish wagon... How much would it cost? If you have to ask that question, you probably can't afford it anyway...

And in case you're interested who could possibly carry on a job of turning a perfectly good M3 Coupe into a Sports Wagon? Well, I include addresses of three companies that do extensive modifications... In Europe, Germany to be precise there is a company called ARDEN Automobilbau GmbH. It's the company that morphs the Jaguars XJ-S into either a 3-door Sports Wagon (known as AJ3) or en extended 4 seater Coupe (AJ6). The last trace of this compan I could find dates back to 1996, but I'm sure it's still in existance... Since they perform such drastic transformation of the XJ-S they should be helpful in creating the M3 Sports Wagon. Britain's Lynx Motors International Limited creates replicas of old racing Jaguars and they also have a station wagon verison of XJ-S called Lynx Eventer. They could probably be just as helpful in explaining the process. There is also a very involved BMW tuner in the U.S. The company is called RaceMarqueSystems Inc. (RMS) and I suppose given the price would be right they could assist in morphing the M3 Coupe into a Sports Wagon as well. The cars that RMS did already create include an M3-powered 318ti Compact, M3 Convertible conversion before such model officially appeared in 1998 U.S. model line up and one of the world's first M powered Z3 in the world. They've been also known for such cars as a Supercharged 540i that delivers over 400 horsepower. The addresses of the companies are listed below.
