Snow Balls


1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. & 2 tbsp. cake flour
3 tsp. vanilla
5 tbsp. confectioners sugar
1 c. pecans, chopped fine
1 tsp. water

Beat butter until creamy, add sugar. Stir in other ingredients. Chill until firm enough to shape with fingers. Roll into small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 10 or 12 minutes. As soon as removed from oven, roll in confectioners sugar. Makes about 50 - 60 cookies.

Christmas Jello treats


1 pkg.lime Jello
2 c. small marshmallows
2/3 c. mayonnaise
4 small or 3 large bananas
1 c. crushed pineapple
1/2 c. pecans, crushed
1/2 c. red cherries

Dissolve Jello and marshmallows in 1 cup boiling water and whip. Dissolve mayonnaise in 1/3 cup boiling water. Add to marshmallow mixture. Let almost gel and add remaining ingredients. Let it gel completely before serving.

Old Fashioned Eggnog


4 eggs, separated
1 1/3 c. sweetened condensed milk
4 c. whole milk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
Rum flavoring to taste

Beat egg yolks until thick; mix in condensed milk and whole milk gradually. Blend in salt and vanilla. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold in egg whites and rum flavoring. Pour into chilled punch bowl.

Snowflake Pudding


1 cup coconut
2 tablespoonfuls granulated gelatine
1 pint whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 cup cold water
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt

Soak gelatine in cold water 5 minutes. Heat the milk and add beaten egg yolks and sugar; cook until slightly thickened, add gelatine; cook until mixture begins to thicken faster, then fold in 2/3 cup of coconut, add stiffly beaten egg whites and flavoring. Spread the remaining coconut on the top and chill.

Christmas Kiss Cookies


3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
3 egg yolks (save the whites)
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
3 egg whites, beaten
1-1 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
1 small bag of Hersey's Kisses

In large bowl combine first 5 ingredients on medium speed of mixer about 1 minute. Gradually add flour and blend at low speed until well mixed. Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch sized balls. Dip the dough balls into egg whites then nuts. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Make a deep impression in center of each cookie with fingertip. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Immediately remove cookies from sheet. While still warm, place a Kiss in the centers. Allow to cool completely before storing cookies. Yield 2-3 dozen.

Christmas Nut Balls


1 c. margarine
3 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. water
1 c. chopped walnuts and pecans mixed
2 c. flour, sifted

Cream the butter and vanilla together then add the sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Blend in water and then flour, mix well, add nuts. Take 1 teaspoon of dough and roll into ball. Dip in red or green sprinkles. Place cookies on ungreased pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.

Ruby red Christmas Punch


1 qt. apple juice
2 pt. cranberry juice
2 liter 7-Up
3 trays 7-Up ice cubes

Chill the fruit juices and 7-Up. Freeze the 7-Up ice cubes . Combine juices and 7-Up and add the ice cubes. Makes approximately 40 punch glass servings.

Spicy Holiday Punch


1 1/2 qts. water
2 sm. pkgs. red hot candies
1 box whole cinnamon sticks
1 can frozen orange juice
1 can frozen lemonade
1 lg. can apple juice
1 lg. can pineapple juice
1 liter of ginger ale

Boil first 3 ingredients 10 to 15 minutes or until candies dissolve. Remove cinnamon sticks and add remaining ingredients. Stir well and serve.
