How many times have you served a great meal, then went back in the kitchen and wondered just where had all this mess came from? Pots, pans and bowls tend to stack up rather puickly and can take longer to clean up than it did to cook the meal. But what can you do, Go out to eat, Well that's one way, Or...., there are a few things you can do to make Clean-up a little quicker and easier.
First, clean up as you go, A pot or bowl that takes 10 seconds to wash as soon as you're done with it, may take 2 or 3 minutes of hard scrubbing after the mess has dried on it, and you may even have to soak it first. The same applies to spills and splatters.
All modern kitchen cleaners tackle grease, but sink stains respond best to cleansers containing bleach. For aluminum pots that have become darkened, fill it to the top of the darkened area with water then add 2 tsps. of 'cream of tartar' to each quart of water and boil about 10 mins. Never use dish detergent on cast iron pans, only soap will protect the absorbed grease seasoning.
The best all around Kitchen cleaner is the only one that will prevent the messy clean-up. Anytime it's possible, line an oven pan with aluminum foil. A simple thing, but it can turn the hardest to clean item into the easiest. If it's not possible, then oven cleaner is a lot easier than brillo pads.
