Bumblebee

What a cute little costume! This one is a bit more difficult, but kind of cute when you are finished!

You will need:

Yellow and Black striped material, about a metre
Sewing Machine, thread, scissors, etc. 2 wire hangers
shear material
2 pipe cleaners
2 small styrofoam balls
white glue and hot glue gun
gold sparkles
a headband

Measure your child from the top of her neck to her mid-thigh. Measure her around her middle, adding six inches. Cut an oval shape using these measurements, being careful to have the material in a horizontal line.

Sew her shoulders, leaving space for her head to fit through, about 10 - 12 inches. Leaving about 7 or 8 inches on either side for her arms, sew down the sides, leaving 12 inches at the bottom for her legs to fit through. Hem her arm holes, neck hole and leg space.

She can wear a black turtleneck or sweat shirt, with black pants. If you want, you can make a little stinger tail from some black material in the shape of a long triangle sewn together and stuffed.

For her wings, use the coat hangers to make the shape and hot glue (very carefully) the shear material over them, wrapping it around the wire. Sew them together, and make elastic loops to put her arms through.

For her antennae, you can use a headband, and attach pipe cleaners to them with small styrofoam balls, dipped in glue and gold sparkles and let dry for a few days.
