Hot Pumpkin! (Hot Potato)
Just another variation, I am afraid, of a classic game from the past. This is a cool game
though and the kids like it alot.
If you don't have anything that is shaped like a pumpkin for this game, you can use a
drawing of a pumpkin or a small pumpkin or gourd. I use our pumpkin bean bags that I made
with a bit of orange material and some buttons and beans.
You just turn on some eerily wicked music and let the pumpkin go. Round and round the
kids it goes, in a circle and where to stop, noone knows....
Stop the music (don't peek) and the person who had held it (they usually drop it when the
music stops) last is out. I give a prize to the first person out, but I don't tell them
about it before the game. It helps ease the disappointment a bit of being out of the game
so early.
Keep going and the last one sitting wins!!
