Mashed Potatoes

OK, Now everybody knows how to make mashed potatoes. Well, there was a day that I did now know how to, and now that I know, I have a few suggestions to help you make your potatoes absolutely perfect!

You will need:

a pot full of potatoes, peeled, and diced
butter
milk
cheese or spinach (optional)

Boil your potatoes that are peeled, diced in enough water to cover them. You can boil them faster if you put the lid on your pot, but if you do this, you need to watch them so the pot doesn't overflow all over your stove. This will make a bit of a mess.

When your potatoes are soft to fork poking, you strain them in a large colander then dump them back into the pot. Get out your masher and mash them away like crazy! LOL This is a great way to take out all your frustrations!! LOL

Add about a half of a cup of butter and mash some more. If you want perfect potatoes without any lumps, add about a half cup of milk and break out your hand blender or mixer. You can whip your potatoes and get rid of almost every lump and they taste wonderful!

My nephews told me they hate spinach and would not eat it for anything! Until I added it to my potatoes just before whipping them. You can hardly taste them at all and it is very good for you! Or if you prefer, you can grate some cheese and add that to your potatoes! That is very yummy too! My husband likes garlic and cheese potatoes! YUMMY!!

Merry Christmas!!
