Row 21. hdc dec the first 2 stitches together, repeat this around as small as you can, when you cant do anymore hdc decreases, do a few slip stitches to make sure its closed completely and then ch 10 to make the tail.
Tail.
3 Sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch to the end. Sl st to the pig backside itself at the base of the tail and then finish off and weave in the end. Twist the tail to make it curly. NOTE: sometimes getting 3 sc in each chain might be difficult, if you can only get 2 sc in a chain now and then, don't worry, don't stress it. Remember, it's just for fun.
Snout:
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 as above.
Row 3. Sc in each stitch.
For the snout, you are finished, so leave a long tail for sewing the snout on the middle of Polly's face.
Feet:
Make four of these.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 as above.
Row 3 and 4. hdc in each stitch around. Stuff with fiberfill.
Again, leave a long tail for sewing on. When you sew these on, make sure that you place them evenly so that Polly will stand up, we don’t want her to fall over on her face if the feet are placed back too far on her tummy.
Ears:
Make 2
Ch 6. sl st in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in each of the next 2 ch. Ch 3 and slip stitch in the same chain as the last dc was made. Chain three to start on the other side of the chain and dc in the same ch. Working back up the opposite side of the chain, dc in the next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, and sl stitch in the next, finish off and weave in ends.
**** Please note: for safety purposes, I do not recommend using buttons on a toy that is being made for a child that is under 3 years of age or is known to put things in their mouths. My daughter, who I made this toy for, is 6 years old and adores buttons so I did choose to use buttons for the eyes.
If you are making this toy for a child under 3, please use yarn or thread to stitch eyes and facial features on. ****
