Itty Bitty Snowman Ornament to Crochet

You will need:

Shiny white yarn (or you can use plain white)
Black yarn
H Hook
Yarn Needle for facial features and buttons


Starting at the bottom of the body:

Row 1. Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook. Do not join rounds, mark rows with safety pin, or coloured yarn or a stitch marker. (6)

Row 2. 2 sc in each stitch, around (12)

Row 3. 2 sc in next stitch, sc in next stitch, continue around. (18)

Row 4. Sc in each stitch, around (18)

Row 5. Ch 2, sk next 2 stitches, sc in next 7 stitches, ch 2, sk next 2 stitches, sc in next 7 stitches (18)

Row 6. Sc dec over the 2 chain stitches, sc dec over the next 2 stitches, work around. (9) Stuff body, do not break yarn off, continue with neck.


NECK:

Row 7. Sc in each stitch, around (9)


HEAD:

Row 8. 2 sc in each stitch, around (18)

Rows 9 and 10. Work 2 rows evenly (18)

Row 11. Sc dec over 2 stitches, around (9) change to black on last stitch. Stuff head, do not break off, continue with hat.


HAT:

Row 12. Work first row in the back stitch only. Sc evenly around (9)

Rows 13 - 15. Work 3 rows evenly around (9) Stuff hat.

Row 16. Sc dec over 2 stitches until you have a tiny hole, leave length of yarn for sewing, break yarn and finish off. Sew hole closed and push it flat on top by pushing the needle all the way from the top middle of the hat thru the back of the hat and finish off, pulling it a little, so it looks like a top hat.

In the front loop of the first row of the black hat, attach yarn, ch 1, sc in same stitch and 2 sc in each stitch around, do not join round. (18)

2 sc in each stitch around, finish off, weave end in. (36)

Use black yarn French Knots for coal for eyes, mouth and buttons.

If you want a nose, join pretty orange yarn with a slip stitch in the middle of the face, and chain 2 or 3 for a carrot nose, finish off by pulling thru, leave length and weave it back into the head and cut off.


ARMS:

Join yarn in one of the chain 2 spaces on body with a chain, sc in same stitch, sc in next stitch, continue with 1 sc in each of the two skipped stitches, do not join rounds, continue working evenly with sc for 3 rounds, finish off, leave length of yarn for sewing hole closed. No need to stuff the arms.
