Tourtiere. French Meat Pie



Meat Pie is generally very easy to make.

you will need:

a good double pie crust
1 pound of ground beef
1 pound of ground pork
1 or 2 onions
salt and pepper

First take the beef, pork, and onions and put them in a large pot with about 3 inches of water. Boil until the meat is a grey colour, and the onions are soft. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Prepare your pie crust (or break out the store bought!). Strain your meat mixture in a large colander in the sink, and spoon the meat into your pie shell. Cover with second pastry and bake at 350 for about 30 to 45 minutes depending on your oven. Or until your crust is a nice golden brown.

Serve warm and serves about 6 people.
