A Giant Spider Web

This is the type of decoration that takes up your entire ceiling. I use this especially for parties and it is very inexpesive.

You can see a picture of it here.

You will need:

black paper streamers
scissors
a spider

Take your streamer and tape the end of it to the exact middle of your room. Unroll it and tape it to a corner of the room and tear it off with a bit hanging down. Start again in the middle of the room. Tape the end in the middle and tear it off after it has been taped to a corner and leave a bit hanging down. Repeat this about 5 or 6 times.

Most rooms do not have exactly 4 corners. You do not have to only go to corners. You can go to the middle of walls or above doors if you prefer. Spiders are not precise. You don't have to be either. Just have fun with it!

After you have the straight lines of your web done, you can begin the circle sections. I used a stapler for this part, because it seems to hold better than tape. I started about a foot from the middle of the room (the place I started with the straight sections), and I made a little circle by stapling the end of the streamer to one and then the next and the next all the way around. When one little circle section is done, tear it off.

I repeated the process again, but this time about 18 inches from my last little circle. And then the next was about 2 feet from that one. I only did 3 or 4 circles because that was all I needed for the effect.

I didn't know if I would find one, but I went looking and I found a HUGE plastic spider to hang from the exact center of the web with a piece of the streamer. But if you can't find one, you can make one easily with a black plastic garbage bag and the same method as my ghosts. Just be sure to make 8 legs to attach!

HAVE FUN!!
