The Commentaries on the Laws of England by William Blackstone was the canonical codification of the Common Law, but it needed to be adapted to the needs of the U.S. Constitution. This was done in 1803 by St. George Tucker, one of the Founders, who republished the Commentaries, and added commentaries of his own, making the needed adaptations.
Many of these links were provided by the Constitution Society. The Constitution Society is a private non-profit organization dedicated to research and public education on the principles of constitutional republican government. It publishes documentation for this purpose, and is dedicated to everyone who has a stake in constitutional compliance.
