The WET WAGON:
As we al know - there are no two Ork vehicles which are the same unless they've been nicked. To represent this is Epic GW simply made a profile for an "average" Battle wagon. Seeing as the same would apply to the Ork's amphibious vehicles, I have done similar - creating a single profile to represent an average of the different styles of Wet Wagonz the Ork's have. I have to admit that this is basically War Wagons with the Aquatic special ability but they work well enough!
Unit | Speed | Range | Fire Power | Assault | Armor | Special | Points cost |
Wet Wagon | 25/20 | 45 | 1 | 2 | 5+ | Aquatic | 24 |
The term Hover craft should not really be used in relation to the Ork's version on the Imperial design. They find the idea of floating along on a cushion of air poncy and weak - as we all know they prefer a more direct approach to these things to most! What they have come up with is a totally new type of vessel (new to the 41st Millennium at least - people on earth were using them 39 Millennia before!). These are extremely shallow bottom boats - powered by large rotor blades at the back of the vessel pushing air backwards and thus propelling the vessel forwards. Extremely fast and capable of skimming over water and reeds alike due to their extreme shallow design - they are the perfect substitute for poncy Imperial Hover Craft. However they lack the ability to move over solid land.
N.B. The best thing to describe what they should look like would be a picture - but I don't have one! Err - the design is similar to American swamp boats - big fan - high chair - Small - fast, that sort of thing. Be your own MEK and make them how you feel right!
Hunterz:
These are the smallest of the new class of vessel - Driven only by the maddest of Orks. Room for only one or two Orks on board, extremely fast, well armed, and small they are the speed freaks watery heaven!. With a very simplistic design - thousands of these vehicles can be churned out by just a few MEKs in a matter of months in preparation for a WAAAAGH! They take the job of the Bikes and Buggies of the land - fast moving attack vehicles - driven by Madmen! With the crew sitting on high chairs in the center of the vessel with no protection or cover from either water spray or incoming fire, these are truly vehicles for daring greenskins!
Unit | Speed | Range | Fire Power | Assault | Armor | Special | Points cost |
Hunterz | 0/35 | 30 | 2 | 2 | 5+ | Aquatic Hover craft | 16 |
Larger than the Hunterz - Maulerz carry a better weapons system and heavier armor without sacrificing much of the speed benefited by the smaller Hunterz. With the crew all nicely inside the vehicle away from the water this style of vessel is preferred by most of the not-so-mad Orks around. However, still lacking the ability to move over land as well as water - they do not match up to the Imperial Hornet or even Wasp Hover craft some would say when it comes to multi-terrain combat.

Landaz: (name
courtesy of Jpatten)
The Ork landa is, like all ork craft,
crude but functional. Normally built out of the left overs from the construction
of the rest of the fleet - they are even more of a ramshackle mess than
the rest of the fleet - barely staying afloat - but its enough to deliver
the Orks to their destination without them going in the water so its god
enough! The design of the Ork Landa was copied from the Imperial design
of landing craft but of course there are differences. The Ork Landa has
got higher sides to it to prevent hardly any water from entering the cargo
section. Obviously they have different armament - for the orks its a case
of whatever the Mek makes sound the best weapon at the time! Crude but
functional - the landa is capable of delivering 10 troops (or one vehicle
- see rules) to the shore, blasting away at the shores as it approaches
with its light weaponry.

'Evy landaz: (an
obvious progression from Jpatten's name!)
These are truly massive machines, built
in typical ork style. Capable of carrying a total of 20 troops or even
2 battlewagonz and 5 extra troops - they encompass a number of variants.
Some are built simply as larger variations on the landa - an open topped
cargo area with a cabin at the back for the driver and weapons mounts along
the sides like buttresses on a fort. However - some are built fully enclosed.
This is the preferred design for most orks as it means they don't have
to worry about getting wet and can concentrate on the head butting contests.
Although preferred - these inevitably are larger machines, as the orks
are not willing to sacrifice the carrying capacity, and so are easier targets.

Rippaz: (name
courtesy of BAZ)
Rippaz are tiny - single man (Ork) boats.
Fast and maneuverable but totally enclosed - these vehicles are preferred
by Orks looking for respect but who are not prepared to risk getting wet
in the process (i.e. won't use a hunter). Armed with only a remotely operated
pair of twin linked bolters - they swarm over the enemy in clouds of water
spraying madness rather than try to take them out on their own. Unfortunately
for the driver, it is very hard to get in and out of the vehicle in a hurry
- and so he often only has the chance to flail an arm out of the window
in hth before he gets it chopped off - with his head normally following.

Bangaz: (name courtesy of COBRA
|6|)
These are the standard vessels of an ork
fleet. making up the battle wagons of the sea - they are good all-round
vessels. With a good range and high firepower they are quite capable of
taking on all comers in a ranged conflict and with an assault value of
two they can hold their own close up as well. They are large in size, with
the weapon mounts often being exaggerated by the MEK designer to make it
look even scarier. capable of taking on most vessels in an Imperial fleet
- the Medium attack boats of the Ork fleet were not a good sign when they
appeared on the horizon of Chameleon V.

Deff Bargez: (Name courtesy of Jpatten)
The Deff Barges are the Leviathans of
the Ork fleet. truelly massive in size - and with typical orky angineering
they do not look as though they should float - let alone operate on combat
with the effectiveness which has been reported by those who have survived
seeing them in action. Normally armed with various long-ranged racks of
rockets, artillery, or even Massive morters - it has often been asked how
the ramshackle devices stay afloat when they fire such is the apparent
instability of them. With thick armour they can withstand most average
fire which can be put against them and still survive AND still put down
a withering hail of fire themselves.

Spitterz: (name courtesy of MEGA
43)
Spitterz form the aircraft defence in
most fleets. Often mounted with what the Imperium beliece to be dual twin
linked autocannon, they can send up masses of fire on incomming flyers.
In true orky style they are LOUD, but terribly unreliable and in-accurate
(much like spitting at incomming targets!). It is reported from observers
that most firing blasts have to be stopped due to over heating mechanisms
and ammo-jams. It is well known by the Imperium that if the Ork's managed
to increase the reliability these vessels could become a terrifying thought
for the Imperial navy - probably capable of out-firing any anti aircraft
unit the Imperium could offer. But until that day, they still cause a threat
- but nothing to worry about (much!)
