Old genealogical information provides that Moses
HARROD and Mary Jane (DUVALL) eloped and headed
west from KY, in a covered wagon.
Based on these Franklin County, KY marriages
and on the Clark County, IN marriages, I must ask,
Did Moses and Mary Jane have company??
It appears that way.....
Both couples married at both places....KY and IN
It is also said that, Mary Jane DUVALL's parents
disowned her for this marriage/eloping.
Had Mary Jane lied about her age in this KY
Marriage Record (age 18)? Malinda E (DUVALL) is 17.
Maybe that is why we find Mary Jane and Moses
as well as William and Malinda, marrying after
this, in Jeffersonville, Clark CO IN?
This William is not a brother to this Moses HARROD.
{Moses had only a brother, Benjamin (sons of Harrison HARROD)}.
Perhaps this William and Moses HARROD were cousins?
Were Malinda E. and Mary Jane (DUVALL) cousins too?
If that is the case then......
Perhaps, our "Grand DaddyS DUVALL" were opposed
to the Franklin Co Marriages and maybe both girls
were under age, not just Malinda E.?
Did their DUVALL fatherS threaten to annul these
marriages? That could explain why the 4 young
people ran off next, to Indiana to marry,
where only their names were asked on the records.
