Sept 29, 1952 Mon Mrs. William M. Davis
Dies at Burden Monday
Mrs. Ida Ellen Davis, 84, wife of William M. Davis, died Monday at 4:00 a.m. at her home in burden. She suffered a stroke two weeks ago and had been in a serious condition since.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mose Harrod, she was born in Kokomo, Ind; Aug 18, 1868. She was the last member of her family. On May 23, 1896 she was married to Mr. Davis. After their marriage they lived in Burden four years, then they lived in Oklahoma for 40 years. They moved back to the Burden vicinity about 6 years ago. Surviving are her husband; one son, Harry Davis of Enid, Okla; one daughter, Blanche Smith of Sheridan, Wyo; and many neices and nephews in and around Burden; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Burden Baptist Church from which place funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Elmer Ore officiating. Interment will be in the Burden Cemetery with Miles Mortuary in charge.

Leroy HARROD Obituary Slated
Funeral services for Leroy HARROD, 81, retired Santa Fe Railroad employee, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Davis-Miller Chapel. Rev. J. Martin EDWARDS of the Noble Avenue Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Summit View Cemetery, directed by Davis-Miller Funeral Home.

Harrod died Friday night at Alverno Heights Hospital. He was born June 11, 1888 in Burden, Kans., and was a member of the Noble Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Lula of the home, 1605 W. Logan; two sons, Roy Dean HARROD, Guthrie and Harold HARROD, Denver, Colo; three daughters, Mrs. Clifton (Lou Ann) CHANNEL, Guthrie; Mrs. Claude (Bee) TULL, and Mrs. Guy (Lena) HOWIE, both of Oklahoma City; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Luther (Lucille) ENGLISH, Beaumont, Texas; a stepbrother, John WATTS, Guthrie; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
