When a warrior becomes 5th level
and has achieved an exceptional deed, he can be rewarded with Knighthood.
Knights need a minimum of 12 strength, 12 constitution and 12 charisma.
Any race can become Knight, although dwarven, gnomish and halfling Knights
are pretty rare.

Obviously, The Knights advantages are his hit points and his weapon proficiency slots. His advancement is not really fast, though. A Knight can use any weapon or armor, but lances, swords ,metal armor and shields are preferred. A Knight can specialize in any non-missile weapon and their number of melee attacks increase like the fighter's (see PHB).
