赤柱龍舟錦標賽再攀高峰

142隊同日競逐全球之冠

一年一度素以華洋雜處, 規模一年比一年壯大矚目的赤柱龍舟競渡, 繼去年143隊報名的歷史後，今年隊再有142隊在端午節正日 (公歷6月15日星期六 ) 在赤柱正灘角逐，成為全球一日內完成的龍舟比賽之最。場面之大足以比美任何一項在本港舉辦的國際體壇盛會。此外香港電台除一如過往20年現場直播外(第3台AM567)，再次利用現代科技網上直播 (www.rthk.org.hk )。

赤柱龍舟競渡經過三十多載努力後，已進入國際賽的規模，而且，屢創新猷。今年賽會正式地把比賽名稱也升格為「錦標賽」，旋即得悉已獲國際龍舟聯合會（IDBF，全球監管龍舟比賽的法定機構）收錄於全球全年國際賽總表之內，可謂蜚聲國際。

　　龍舟競渡乃祖國傳統文化的瑰寶，令萬千中外人士著迷。據外國英文Paddler 《槳手》雜誌所稱，龍舟已是當今全球第二最多人參與的体育活動。多年來，赤柱居民聯誼會為龍舟運動的基層推廣投入了不少人力物力，引發不少市民和機構組織龍舟隊參賽，培育出不少新血── 赤柱成了香港龍舟界的搖籃；為推動龍舟普及化的熱潮而擔當了重要角色。

　　近十年來赤柱龍舟競渡大賽均有過百隊同日競逐的輝煌紀錄。今年參賽隊伍再破140大關 (*發稿日已與場刊內容有別，共142)，比賽仍一天內完成，單是健兒就超過3000人。我們相信，這是龍舟歷史上，一天內完成的比賽中全球最大型的，乃香港及赤柱之光。以香港而論，我們也相信赤柱區比賽是最早有外籍人士參賽的分區比賽，且一直是場面最大、參賽商行最多和最受歡迎的。

今年賽會亦把賽制大幅改動。雖然與往年一樣, 比賽仍分為華籍男子(共59隊)、外籍男子(64隊)及女子(共19隊 ) 共三組，各自角逐盃賽及碟賽錦標，但首次把男子組分為甲乙兩個級別競逐。一方面可鼓勵新秀參與，另一方面為精英隊伍帶來更多高水平挑戰，而且甲組的華洋勁旅最後再於「赤柱盃總錦標賽」中壓軸合併一決高下，令比賽氣氛更見刺激。

STANLEY DRAGONBOAT RACES 2001 赤柱龍舟競渡大賽

Tuen Ng Festival falls on 25 June (Monday) this year. This year the Stanley Residents Association will celebrate its 32 year of Dragon Boat Races with the introduction of ten new dragon boats. These sleek, new vessels will add greatly to the continued success of the event. The number of entries this year is a record 143 teams.

The Organizers will set up an amateur radio station for the event to allow instant images to be sent out all over the world via Slow Scan TV. This is in addition to the RTHK webcast. Supporters of the event will be able to immediately feel for themselves the festive atmosphere characterized by cheering gongs and drums.

In conjunction with the Dragon Boat Races this year the organizers will hold a Festival Concert to be broadcast by RTHK in the Main Street Pedestrian Area from 1900 – 2400 hours. Before the concert proper from 1700 – 1900 amateur groups featuring an East-Meets-West Theme will be performing.

Popular local DJs, including “Uncle Ray” Cordeiro will broadcast live from the Street Concert. On 25 June, Radio 3 presenters will all be based at Stanley Main Beach to give live reports all the dragon boat action from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. ______________________________________________________________

"香港電台第三台開放「網上視像直播室」
結合傳統與科技 首度網上直播龍舟競渡"

六 月 六 日 ( 星 期 二 ) 是 端 午 節 。 在 這 個 富 有 東 方 特 色 的 節 日 ? ， 香 港 電 台 第 三 台 ( 英 文 台 ) 將 於 當 日 由 上 午 十 時 至 下 午 六 時 ， 揉 合 傳 統 與 新 科 技 ， 透 過 香 港 電 台 網 頁 的 「 網 上 視 像 直 播 室 」 ( Video Webcasting Channel ) ， 首 次 破 天 荒 把 一 年 一 度 假 赤 柱 正 灘 舉 行 的 龍 舟 競 渡 於 網 頁 畫 面 內 呈 現 ， 讓 中 外 網 民 也 能 即 時 感 受 到 鑼 鼓 聲 響 的 節 日 氣 氛 。
香 港 電 台 第 三 台 節 目 總 監 葛 敏 庭 ( Martin CLARKE ) 表 示 ： 第 三 台 於 過 去 二 十 年 均 有 直 播 端 午 龍 舟 競 渡 的 盛 況 ， 讓 廣 大 聽 眾 也 有 機 會 分 享 到 端 午 節 的 獨 特 氣 氛 。 是 次 第 三 台 特 別 開 放 「 網 上 視 像 直 播 室 」 ， 結 合 聲 音 與 畫 面 ， 於 網 上 首 次 直 播 龍 舟 競 渡 的 精 彩 過 程 ， 一 方 面 希 望 讓 大 眾 能 兼 享 視 聽 之 娛 ， 增 添 投 入 感 ， 同 時 亦 希 望 透 過 日 新 月 異 的 電 腦 科 技 ， 讓 全 球 網 民 也 能 打 破 地 域 阻 隔 ， 一 同 感 受 到 中 國 人 的 傳 統 節 日 。

 
於 當 日 ( 六 月 六 日 ) ， 由 上 午 十 時 至 下 午 一 時 ， 第 三 台 節 目 主 持 人 將 會 於 赤 柱 正 灘 就 龍 舟 競 渡 的 現 場 情 況 作 直 擊 報 導 ， 而 在 下 午 一 時 十 五 分 至 六 時 期 間 ， 則 會 現 場 直 播 整 個 龍 舟 競 渡 的 激 烈 過 程 。

 RTHK Radio 3 Goes on "Video Webcasting Channel"
Blending Tradition with Technology in its Debut Webcast of Dragon Boat Races

Tuen Ng Festival falls on 6 June (Tuesday) this year. To tie in with this uniquely Oriental festive tradition, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 3 (English channel) is pioneering a blend of tradition with innovative technology by broadcasting the annual dragon boat races at Stanley Main Beach from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on that day via the "Video Webcasting Channel" installed on RTHK's Website. By bringing live scenes from the races to the Web pages, it is hoped that both Chinese and foreign Netizens will be able to immediately feel for themselves the festive atmosphere characterized by cheering gongs and drums.

According to Mr. Martin CLARKE, Head of RTHK Radio 3, over the past twenty years, the radio channel has been relaying live the spectacular scenes from the Tuen Ng Festival dragon boat races to give listeners a share of the distinctive atmosphere of the Festival. Radio 3 by launching the "Video Webcasting Channel" that blends sound and images will present for the first time the dragon boat races live on the Net. Netizens all over the world can share the spirit of this Chinese traditional festival across the boundaries via such innovative computer technology.

IOn 6 June, Radio 3 presenters will all be based at Stanley Main Beach to give live reports from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and later provide live coverage of all the dragon boat action from 1:15 pm to 6:00 pm.
"RTHK Radio 3 Webcasting Day - Live from the Dragon Boat Races in Stanley" will be presented on 6 June (Tuesday) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm by Martin CLARKE, Andy CURTIS, Melanie HOMER and Phil WHELAN. 赤柱龍舟競渡 2000

一年一度素以華洋雜處, 規模與氣氛仿如國際大賽之赤柱龍舟競渡, 今年昂首邁進第31屆, 共有破紀錄之132隊角逐，成為全球一日內完成的龍舟比賽之最。此外香港電台除一如過往現場直播外(第3台AM567)，更加設全場影音網上直播(www.rthk.org.hk)，將為香港龍舟界開創先河。主辦單位赤柱居民聯誼會也在一年前率先創建比賽專用網頁 (www.angelfire.com/on/dragonboat)，赤柱也是全港最先和一直是最多外國人參與的龍舟賽。與往年一樣, 比賽分為華籍男子(共40隊)、外籍男子(*64隊)及女子(共28隊)共三組角逐盃賽及碟賽錦標 (*其中兩隊北美洲勁旅剛趕及報名)。
