Chris' note to the readers:
I'd like to make clear that the following text is from the
mind of Gabriel, a cynical elder.
So don't be surprised of his harsh comment about the statement of the city.
Hope you will enjoy it.

FROM  Gabriel de Saint-Cyriaque,
Camarilla ambassador,
Commander of the order of the Golden Lily,
Monitor of West Coast America

TO  Don Redando y rimene de Vasquez,
Monitor of France

My most dear Sire,

As you requested last time we met in France, I have made my steps head to San Francisco, and then introduced myself as ambassador of the Eternal City of Light. The ruling presence back to these days used to be the beautiful yet naive Angel Davenport III, childe of Sir Julian Davenport II, then revered Justicar of the Ventrue clan. Holding the strings of this delicious young girl was the mad Azrael, which madness won't vanish, as I will explain later. Using luring words, I convinced him to let go miss Davenport, and some time later, he removed her from the board. I could tell you the exact reasons, but I ask you to trust me there; it is of no interest to bother you with. Neither is the following prince to claim the throne when they moved to Las Vegas, the neonate Zora von Eastwick.

However, I will concern with the present. Back in San Francisco, the inhabitants of the city let a very old creature named Pike take control of their domain. This cursed child, whose eyes seems to glim with the secrets of all known times, knows about my real identity but never seemed to wish to oppose me. The "madness of the elders" seems to get control over his mind, for he keeps pretending he knows all things past or future, and fancies himself leading the Children of Caine through the coming Gehenna. His role is unclear, for he is just a figure standing on the throne, letting time flowing free of tries of control over it. He simply does nothing.

For this reason, all Kindred claiming San Francisco home are either weak Sabbat followers or neonates naively calling themselves independent. They all cloak themselves in selfish arrogance, perhaps to be convinced they are able to reach some bit of happiness. But these illusions only made the Sabbat more and more powerful within the city borders, and they now can truly claim to have full authority. I will tell you more about the Sabbat and their leaders in a forthcoming letter.

Members willing to support a Camarilla presence here can be counted on the fingers of a hand. I don't think that the need of sending a Justicar or archons was necessary, but I know from certain sources that political actions have been made to do so. I suspect the new raised Tremere Justicar to try to show he's worth his title.

What we should wonder about is the strong presence of magick related beings. Continuum and Marauder Magus have been spotted around, as well as dark entities from the lower realms. Rumors even spread about very ancient creatures, some from the Dark Umbra, some from an unknown place. I don't know what truth we can attach to this, but I'll make sure to gather all informations I can about that matter.

   I'm looking forward your instructions.
May the Father of Us All always bless you.

Eternally yours,
Gabriel de Saint-Cyriaque
