Well, this will be a review and a BSB experience story in one! On
April 3rd 1997,
me and my friends decided to go check out BSB who were going to be at an
autograph signing at Sunridge mall. At about 10 am, we got to the
mall, and it
was PACKED!! And BSB werent even going to be there until 2pm!! Crazy
huh?
Anyways, I really wanted to get inline for autographs, but
unfortunatly, the
lineup was filled up. Noooo!! Hehe, um...so I got kinda sad, but we
decided to
stick around to see them anyways. We were walking around and shopping
and
stuff, and we saw tons of girls walking into the flower shop. I
figured that they
were buying them for the boys. *Sigh* Lucky people get to get their
autographs!
And then, we ran into this girl, whom we knew from school. She was
going to
get autographs!! Lucky her! Man.....was I jelous!!! She had to get
back in her spot,
so me and my buds decided to shop more. Around 12 noon, we saw tons of
people gathering around infront of us. OMG!! Were they here!? Wheres
Nick!?!?
I said, and we all ran over to the crowd. Unfortunately, we were
behind lots of
people and we couldnt see. We stood on our toes and peeked above the
crowd.
There were no BSB yet. Everytime people screamed, I would jump up to
try and
see them. But no luck. Since we had 2 more hours to wait, we stood
around,
listening to BSB music they were playing. And for some odd reason, we
ended
up right up at the barriers....weird eh? Hehe, I wonder how we got up
there?
LOL, actually, me and my buds, slowly squished our way up, and hehehe,
by the
time we got up there, the Backstreet Boys were supposed to come out.
I’d say
we were about 30 ft away from the boys from where we were standing.
2 pm. No sight of BSB...people were chanting, ‘Give us Backstreet
Boys,
Give us Backstreet Boys’. Or something like that...I cant quite
remember.
2:30...still no BSB! Where WERE they!? We stood around, chatted with
other
fans, ect...things were starting to heat up. I was holding my huge
winter jacket
and I had no where to put it....and my feet were killing me!! FINALLY!
At 3:30
the boys arrived and everyone went crazy!!! Cameras flashed like mad,
and
people started to push a bit. But things didnt go bad like what had
happened in
Quebec. *Otherwise, people up in the front, would get trampled on*
The boys
looked FINE. Nick was wearing something bright and AJ had a hat,
sunglasses
and a lot of jewlery on. He looked so cute!! I didnt get to see
Brian, because there
was a tree in the way *Dont you hate those fake plants in the mall?*
Kevin and
Howie both looked HOT like they usually do! I got tired of standing
there and
watching BSB sign autographs and I was starting to get extremely hot,
so I
decided to jet outta there. We left and right before the boys left,
there was one
huge scream. Me and my friends shoped around some more and we decided
to
leave.
I had really wanted to go to the concert, but no one wanted to go
with me.
I asked my friend and she said Yah! Lets do it!! But I was hesitating
cause I didnt
know if tickets were still on sale...but we went for it. We went back
and dug up
the money we needed for the tickets. We quickly headed down to the
Max Bell
Center where BSB were playing.
Wow. When we got there, there was this HUGE line up. It went all the
way around the building. Uh oh!! I was dreading the worst thing!
Nosebleed
section! We had gotten there at around 5 pm, and the concert started
in 2 hours.
They let us in shortly and by the time we got inside, we had to take
seats. *Sigh*
Oh well, at least we got to go!
Finally, the lights went down and and guy named Glen Louis opened. He
was great. He had lots of energy and he knew how to warm up a crowd!
Great!
Anyways, after that, the lights came back on and we waited for the
Backstreet
Boys. All of a sudden, the lights went down and baby pics of the boys
flashed
onto huge screens above the stage. Awe!! Werent they cute?! d=] Oh,
it was
great I tell you. I screamed and screamed! I couldnt believe it!!!!!
After the pics,
the boys came out on stage and sang ‘We’ve Got it Goin On’. After
that, I dont
really remember lots about the show. I remember Nick playing the
drums. He
was hot!! And very very good!! The boys each did their solos and now,
I know
that Nick sang ‘Heaven in Your Eyes’. AJ sang, ‘Lay Down Beside Me’ and
Kevin sang ‘10, 000 Promises’ where he played the piano and Nick was on
drums. That was an awesome preformance. They sang lots of songs.
Anywhere
For You, Get Down, Darlin, Boys Will be Boys, Lets Have a Party, I
wanna Be
With you, Just to Be Close, oh, almost every song from their first CD
out in
Canada. It was awesome!!
At the end, we thought it was the last that we would see of the boys,
but
BSB came back and sang ‘Quit Playing Games’ that was very cool. I
remember
screaming LOTS and trying to get Nick’s attention, and doing a lot of
dancing
and a lot of screaming the words to all the songs. I had the time of
my life. I will
never forget April 3rd 1997. It was such a cool day.
I recomend to ALL of you, BSB fan or not, to see them live. The BSB
gives
you EVERYTHING you would ever want in a live show. Its fun, with lots
ofenergy and the boys really know how to preform. They
can sing and
dance live
awesome! Overall, the boys’ concert that I went to on April 3rd just
rocked. Two thumbs up!!! 5 Stars!!
Lucy
