News from 1998
December 5
-
In the December 2nd issue of the Mississauga News, it was reported
that the Genie Awards were being moved to my hometown of Mississauga, Ontario,
Canada. In the past these awards were held in Toronto. Also
in the report it was said that Molly Parker will be a presenter at next
year's show. This can be true because usually the winner of the past
award usually presents this current award. Molly won the Genie in
the best actress category for her performance in Kissed and might
do so next year. The awards will be held at the Living Arts Centre
in Mississauga on February 4th and it will be televised on the CBC.

Two new images were added to the site. One of them is from Intensity.
All thanks to Anthony. The other image is from Maclean's.
It was not featured in the article, however it does show another scene
of Molly and Ralph Fiennes in The Taste of Sunshine. This
picture can be found here.
-
Kissed fans will be happy to know that the movie is finally available
on video. There are two versions of the cover which is distributed
by Malofilm Video. I purchased it at HMV for $15.99 CDN. It
is not known if MGM, the US distributors of the film have down so already
in the States. If you can't find it, Anthony from Burbank, CA has
purchased a copy from a Winnipeg company Movie
Village. For fans outside North America, it is also unknown if
it is available. Also the movie sold in Canada is in NTSC format,
meaning that it can only be viewed in North America. If you do know
that Kissed is available in your country do e-mail me so I can update
the site with such news.

The November 2nd article of Molly's article in Maclean's magazine
is now up. Also two images from that article, one including a scene
from her new movie, The Taste of Sunshine.

Nothing new to add to the site except for
a news item.
-
From the Toronto Star on Tuesday,
October 20th, 1998. Starting on November 2nd, Molly will back from
the shoot in Budapest to begin filming The Five Senses. The
plot of this film is the media attention that is drawn from a missing child.
It surrounds the five characters which come together with that. It
will be directed by Jeremy Podeswa.

-
Added two more pictures of Molly.

The other one is another from the Chatelaine article. This
one located in the Chatelaine article.

What a coincidence! Three months ago this web site was put up.
I want to thank all those again who have supported this site and all the
great feedback. They are very much appreciated. Actually I
planned to put up an update to the site today. Just so happened that
the third month anniversary was today.
-
Added two more films in the Film section of
her Filmography.
From the Toronto International Film Festival :
-
After watching Don McKellar's film, Last Night he confirmed that
he was going to work on Twitch City next. For those of you
who don't know Don McKellar, he is the creator, writer and star of the
sitcom shown on the CBC. It only speculation that new episodes will
be seen in January or next fall. At the time of this update, it was
unknown if Molly is coming back. Although you can bet your bottom
dollar that she will. You never know when they'll write the character
of the show and introduce another character to replace her. However,
Molly is the show literally and wouldn't be here today if she wasn't on.
Also, from what I read in the Shift September 1997 article, McKellar
finds a time to shoot the show when he can get everyone available.
He's no idiot, he'll wait for Molly and so will we.
-
Finally, I was treated to a short film in which Molly Parker was in.
It was screened on Thursday, September 17th and was called From Morning
On I Waited Yesterday. What a great treat. She played Lina,
a woman obsessed with a guy who works at the convenience store across the
street from her.
And in other news :
-
Molly and her amazing blue eyes can be seen on the cover of Chatelaine
magazine. In this issue they due an in depth interview. My
Tribute to Molly Parker will have the interview and pictures when the
magazine becomes unavailable. This is due to legal reason.
However if you are interested you can pick up your copy a copy of the October
1998 issue. The magazine is available in Canada and sells around
$2.99. If you have any questions on ordering the magazine, please
e-mail
me.

It's been two months and finally an update. Thanks to all for
all the kind words, I appreciate them very much. Ever since
Fox have showed Intensity, interest in the site has grown.
Also, I'm working with a friend to improve the site within the coming months.
Unfortunately I haven't seen Intensity and someone who has taped
it send me an e-mail. Finally to Molly's boyfriend, you are the luckiest
guy in the whole wide world. Although from what I've read, she thinks
the same way about you. So you're okay in my book :)
-
Used a different picture for the main page.
-
