I am still researching the SAMPSON Family, but I have traced back to William James Sampson, who married Bessie DAVIES Sampson. They came to America from Cornwall, England. They had one son, James Henry Sampson. When James Henry Sampson was 7 years old, he came to America with his mother, from Cornwall, England. They came over on a steamship that docked in New York City.
When James Henry Sampson grew to a young man, he married Clara Ellen SINCOX. James and CLara Sampson had 3 children: Bessie Ella, Clifford Everett and Katherine May Sampson.
They lived around Marysville and Canyon Creek, Montana. James Henry Sampsons parents, William and Bessie Sampson owned and operated a candy store in Marysville, Montana and are buried there.
Clara Ellen SINCOX Sampson's parents were Mr. & Mrs. Edwin SINCOX of Illinois.
Clara Ellen SINCOX Sampson was a dressmaker and also worked in a millinary shop in Illinois, before coming west and marrying James Henry Sampson.
James Henry Sampson was a blacksmith. He did work around Marysville and also owned a shop in Canyon Creek, MT. He lost sight in one eye from a piece of steel, while he was working in Marysville. He was 21 years of age at that time.
During the war, Clara volunteered to make socks for the soldiers. The material was donated by the Red Cross and she hand made the socks with stripes around the tops of each pair.
James and Clara's oldest daughter, Bessie married Theodore MAGNUS and had no children. They were married approx. 49 years at the time of Bessie's death.
Their 2nd child Everett Clifford Sampson married Marion HANSEL and has 2 sons: Clifford B. and Kenneth Sampson. Everett died and Marion resided in Helena, MT.
