The battle rages within my soul,
It's like vanilla being poured into a mix,
Only it's my essence dripping away,
Is this how the institution gets its kicks?
Conformity is the civilised way,
I stare into the blackness of insight,
It's wisdom tells me otherwise,
Life is war and I must fight.

he brushes away the emptiness with a flick
of his wrist
she's sitting in the darkness
dripping with confusion
a violence is growing in her mind.
she inhales on whatever is in the air
holding the hate in her lungs
as she burns the rest of her sanity
and watches the smoke blow out the window.
he has left with the sun
scared of the feeling he feels inside her
as she watches him run out the back door
she sings along with the voice in her head
and she laughs.....
for she has found herself.
yet as the sun blinded me proclaiming it's dominating
power over night when confronting the physical
side of pain i neither jumped up from bed or threw the covers
over my head instead i lingered for a moment
staring straight into it's rays untill my feet succumbed
into the daily walk of getting on with this until i sleep again...
The Journey Of My Life
My journey began as a child
I was told what to do
"GO TO BED"
"DRINK YOUR MILK"
I was learning to maneuver my broad wings
Trying to soar over the world below
Dependent for my life
My journey continued through adult life
I was doing as I wanted to do
FLYING
FLYING
I thought I was in control of my wings
Independent. Living my life.
Now my journey is reality as a mentaly ill woman
I still feel I can do as I wish
But now you tell me what to do
"YOU NEED YOUR REST"
"SLOW DOWN"
"DID YOU TAKE YOUR PILLS?"
My feathers are being plucked, slowly.
One by one
You limit my flight day by day.
Look upon me carefully
See me living
See my wings spread wider than ever before
Do not end my journey
It is not time
