I get asked lots of question about Grand Champions and this site. I don't have all the answers, but I'm happy to help you find them :) For questions I get asked often, I thought I'd post them here. If you have a question that isn't answered here, or have a better answer then the one I've given, do e-mail me! I love to here from other collectors!
Some Questions:
Q: Hi! I just found your site, and I love all the pictures! I don't have a scanner; may I use your pictures on my pages?
Q: Are the horses on your site for sale?
Q: Are you part of the Company who makes Grand Champions?
Q: I have a horse, and I don’t know his name! Can you help me?
Q: I'm looking for [insert horse name here]. Do you have her/know where I can find her?
Q: Where can I find GC Horses?
Q: I’m a new GC collector. How much should I pay for a horse?
Q: How much is my horse worth?
A: For the most part, the answer is yes :) However, many of the pictures were given to me by other collectors, so please ASK FIRST. And PLEASE do not copy *every single picture* (hey, it has happened!) A lot of work went into making this site the great refrence work that it is, and I'd apriecieate if you respect the hard work that went into it. And give me credit -a link back to this site would be wonderful!
A: No. The horses in the main ID Galleries are just pictures.
A: Nope again. The company who now produces Grand Champions is Alpha International I am not affiliated with them in any means other then by providing a functioning ID gallery. I am simply a private collector who loves horses :)
A: Generally, every horse ever made is somewhere on the site. If you can’t find it in the main galleries, don't forget to check out other places, like the Rider's Page, Sound Horses, and Delux Horse sets. Still stumped? Then by all means send me a discription or a picture, and I will be happy to sort your horses out!
A: Becuase Grand Champions are virtually discontinued at the end of each year, finding an older modle might be a bit of a quest. I have a generally limited amount of horses for sale on my Sale Pages so I am probably not your best source. See the next question for more info.
A: You can usually find current GCs at your local toy or department store. I've also stumbled across them at hardware and farm supply shops. If it's the older modles you're after, that poses a more difficult challange. Try second hand shops and garage sales, flea markets are a good source too. You can also find them online, such as web auction houses like Ebay and Yahoo! Auctions; a few show up there every week. A few online sellers are also listed on the Main Page.
A: Good Question! It really depends on the horse – its condition, weather or not it comes with accessories, that sort of thing. And then there are the rarer horses, or ones that are more sought after and there for more expensive. The rule of thumb: on ebay, the average horse adult horse in good condition costs $3-5, average foal costs $2. However, some horses sell for $40 a peice - but this is much the exception to the rule. Private sellers can charge whatever they like; decide what you want to spend, and then look for horses within your means.
A: That’s very similar to the concerns addressed above. Once again, there are many factors. It might be an idea to check around for sales of similar horse to get an idea.
