The Tack Room, Part II
Besides the beautiful tack that came with each horse, should you decide your prize hunter needs to look *extra good* for that big event, you could purchase a variety of special tack & accessories. These sets included all sorts of things for your horse to uses like saddles & bridles, hairpieces, jumps, grooming supplies. They were available during the mid to late nineties, and a few were available from the mail order catalogues. Unfortunately never did quite as well as hoped, and were soon discontinues. However you can still find a selection of accessories for sale at Grand Champions website! |
Tack Accessories
The Saddle & Accessories packages first arrived in 1996. There were many styles, each designed for a function, like Show Jumping, the Parade, or Western Pleasure. No horses were included with these sets.
The first picture features the Sidesaddle Set, the second is the Parade Set, and the third, the Western Pleasure set. Each came with a variety of horse care accessories.
The Jumping Champion even came with it's own jump, and winner's trophy! The following two are prize ribbons and blanket ensembles; I do not know if they were actually released at that time. However, there are new Ribbons and Blanket packages set to arrive for 2002!
Other Accessories
These pretty ribbons and fancy blankets were first available to be bought through the mail order catalogue in the mid-nineties. They featured all sorts of things to make your horse beautiful! Luckily, they can still be had from Grand Champions website. |
New Accesorries for 2004
At last, accessories are being made especally for your favorite GC horses. For the most part, many of these accessories have only been available in the UK and Europe, but with luck they will make thier way to North America in the future!
Just in case you weren't sure what to do with a haut ecole dressage rider or sportperson, here's a jumping set good enough to set your horse on his way to Spruce Meadows! Jumps can be purchased seperately, so you make any horse a star hunter with a little practice. |
On a complete aside, I will also add that Grand Champion tack looks terrific on Classic-sized Breyer horses, too!
