O.K. so on a Wednesday night you want to know what to do
for fun
, well that's where your social secretaries -
CLAIRE AMANDA
- come in...it's their
job to think up funky new ideas for socials and if you just take a look at
this page you'll see the sorts of things we've done and plan to do. If anyone
has any suggestions then send them on to the e-mail address at the bottom of
the page. Why not have a go on the social opinion poll below!
Don't forget also that this page is where you'll find kit sales,
event information and other useful things like that so keep checking it!
At this point I'd like to congratulate all you clever bunnies who played rugger, drank
copious amounts of alcohol and STILL managed to pass your degrees - WELL DONE... maybe
I'll join you one day, but at my one module-per term average I reckon The Terrace is going to
get a few more pennies out of me yet! - Berni -

PREVIOUS SOCIALS FROM THE '99-2000 SEASON:
Summer Ball:
Unfortunately I had to work for all you drunkards but I had the pleasure of seeing some
of you all frocked up and ready to boogie, I've yet to find out all the gossip from you, but I'm sure
the truth will emerge! Emski and I met B*Witched so we were chuffed anyway, and by the end of our shift
we were possibly just as drunk as all of you lot! So as usual, our rugby boys looked as charming
as ever in their tuxedos and the ladies looked stunning. Don't we srcub up well?!
Taff's Pyjama Party:
Well, while the boyz were away Taff decided to throw a slumber party with a difference - not a lot of actual
slumbering occurred (except for Babs who was the first to drop off). Heaps of sweets, crisps and junk food
were consumed (mostly by Emma Watkins - don't leave those crisps too close to her!) along with
copious amounts of alcohol. Renegade smokers were banished to the kitchen which left a little more space for the other 12 or so
sleeping beauties! Nikki showed off her giant Tigger, Collette had the most Grandaddy pyjamas, Berni didn't actually go to sleep at all and
Amy even came over from Halls in her pyjamas! A very funny evening - the boyz should go away more often!

The Christmas Ball:
Fab frocks all round as we partied away so elegantly at the North
Staffs Hotel. With just the right balance of karaoke and disco
(and a bit of the usual nudity from the lads) it was fantastic night.
Trish lasted better this year but must have been teaching Babs a thing
or two (Babs, your table was nearest to the toilets and you STILL
puked in your glass!). Shazza Menazza + Liz did some awesome singing too.
The meal was erm...what was it? Does anybody remember it? Oh well, it was a groovy
event - you can stop shaking now Clarky babes, the speeches are over!
Wild Wild West Social:
Congrats to Nikki for winning the costume prize, well done everyone for the good effort especially
to our 'brave' indians Pam Punanahontas + Peggy-Emma. YEE-HAH! She'll be coming round
the mountain when she comes...fabulous game. Funny moment: when Shazza Menazza shot the slightly-concust Peggy-Emma in
the ear with the gun that actually DID have caps in! Oh and Amy...man of the match...it's SHERRIFF not SHERRIF! Giddyup!
Britney's Back 2 Skool Social:
Happy 21st Clarky + Pam; didn't they scoff that banana a bit well? A bit wussy on the
old whisky run though eh? Clarky also chundered in the Union but was then seen drinking more! Good girl!
Lovely school uniforms - they were never like that in my day I tell you! High heels!!! Bras hanging out everywhere (or boobs - eh Clarky?!HA HA)
Shocking, but lots of fun anyway!
The Spooky Boozers Halloween Social:
It might be true to say that the majority of us are
a right bunch of witches...Pam/Sarah/Collette with their
flashing pumpkins (was it heat or movement that worked them?)
, Clarky with her tasty green eyeshadow, Alice + Trish with their
gorgeous green perms, Berni (the little devil-straight out of jail),
Claire the man-eating Vampire...and others contributed to a
very successful game-filled evening - well done Taff with your bottle-bombing!
And never mind Jen - I know you wanted the beer in that raffle, but a t-shirt's fun too (yeah right!)
Glad to see the twins (Babs + Lorraine) getting on so well wrestling on the Union floor!
Calm down boys!!!
The 1999 Oscars Awards:
We're definitely the best looking rugby team ever...the Union had
a power cut so it was a profitable night for the Terrace and
lots of drinks were necked (mostly by me it seemed - B)...and
Sharon did a fab job as the temporary social sec but I reckon she
really wants to be a hairdresser now. Ang and Sarah W finally got
adopted - lightweights!
Adoption Night:
Well what can I remember? A fantastic turnout...well done all you babies who
survived the Green Chartreuse experience...can you still taste it? Which one of you
lot licked the vodka jelly bowls clean eh? Pam went for the Kris Kross look, Clarky went
for a total burton over Vicky during 'Cockroach', Amy lost her Greenie before she'd even
drunk it, some interesting 'I Have Nevers' came out (come on Taff just admit it!), QUOTE: "Follow the white hand!!!",
yummy whisky runs, mass scale cheating during the polo race (which was absolutely hilarious!),
don't forget that Clarky loves Squithers, and the fantastic thespian skills of Claire (chips'n'beans) + Amy. Those of you who missed it, don't fret...you'll be next!!!
PAST SOCIALS FROM 98 - 99:
Dresses:
apart from a few rebels everyone donned their frocks!
Shorts 'n' T-shirts:
a traditional outfit before Stoke froze over for Winter.
Cheerleaders:
joined with the Hockey girls on this one for a fun evening, not
taking the piss of anyone - honestly!
Adoption Night:
a fantastic night of Chartreuse all round for mummies and babies!
Pyjamas:
a bizarre range of nightmare nightwear for Halloween.
ABC Night - Mechanics:
didn't win but we looked cool (and greasy!)
The Christmas Ball:
what can I say except that it ended much too soon, we're all bloody
gorgeous and it was a brilliant night - so cheers to all those who were
involved in the organisation of this night at Stakis - you know who
you are!
Bad Taste:
it's scary how good we are at this!
Wedding Social:
It was garters galore! Collette looked like the real deal, Vixter was having a christmas
wedding, Kebab married Squithers under the Reverend Robinson,
Clarkey got bladdered (again!) and Berni went for the Spice Girl wedding outfit.
Tour Reunion/St.Patricks Day:
Does anybody remember anything after we finished beating Crewe ?! Judging by the
number of hangovers the day after, I presume we had a bloody good night!
For Tour details click on the Tour page link !
Berni & Vicky's Gameshow Social:
WELL !!! What can I say except...Kanga's exotic sexlife, Trish's orgasm-on-the-stool,
Keebs' despairing lack of an orgasm, the corrupt truth-or-lie panel, that bloody watergun,
those yummy half-pint nasties, the 5-man 1-pint nasty straw-necking forfeit,
how many sentences did Sarah get?, Robbo fining herself and Berni - yeah cheers!
Basically how much fun can you possibly get out of Family Fortunes on Alcohol?
We hope you enjoyed it anyway! There'll be more to come next year!
The Sports Presentation Evening:
Well done to all those who got prizes, you do us proud! Also well done
to anyone who got copious amounts of snogging, you also do us proud! Sweetie how much
wine did you drink because even Tara balanced on her feet better than you! Overall
good food, good booze, good time!
The Summer Ball:
For those who made it to the end - Well Done - and if you were
there I don't remember because like everyone else I was absolutely off my
face! Lovely frocks but was anyone else's covered in crap the next day? What exactly
happened is a blurr of that crazy hamster-wheel ride and the tequila bar - aah! Tequila it makes me happy...have a
great summer everyone!
