Mr. Frank Baehr, Rokudan (6th Degree Black Belt) has been practising martial arts since the late 1950s, and has studied Matsubayashi-Ryu in Okinawa (Japan) and the United States for more than 30 years. Mr. Baehr first introduced this style to Canada in 1967. He is the only Canadian to have lived for a number of months at the home of Grandmaster Shoshin Nagamine, Judan (10th Degree Black Belt) and founder of Matsubayashi-Ryu. Seeing the Grandmaster in all facets of his life has given him a unique insight into the Art.
Over the years Mr. Baehr has also trained extensively with Mr. Chotoku Omine in Okinawa and the US and Mr. Tomotsugu Morita in Hawaii and currently continues to train with Master Takayoshi Nagamine, Kyudan (9th Degree Black Belt) Hanshi and current head of the style.
Dr. Harry Persaud, Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt). A student of Mr. Baehr for many years, Dr. Persaud also lends to the Dojo his many talents as an authority on anthropology and eastern philosophy.
