WOODEN PORTRAITS
Wooden Portraits make a unique, personalized gift that adds a special touch to any home. The standard frame is 10 inches by 9 1/2 inches made from pine. The top is rounded for look and the inner and outer boarders are finished with a router. The frames can be stained but I find that the natural wood look adds more to the finished project. Frames can be made in all sizes and shapes. A plain rectangular frame is also shown above.
The portraits are burnt with a standard wood burning iron and stained with various colors to add the finishing touches.
I recently did a brother and sister set, Adam and Eve, for someone who sent me their photos over the internet. A sketch was created for Adam and Eve from the photographs. Once the sketch has been transfered to the wooden backboard, it is burnt with a wood burning iron. Stains of various colors are used to add the final touches and the finished project is assembled. Each project takes approximately 3hrs to complete
