Stuff We've Done...
September 15th was our first meeting as Seniors, as since then we've done quite a few things. We meet every Tuesday night and once in awhile get together on the weekends for fun stuff.
I was the Cookie Senior for our Troop, it was decided that we were too old for Cookie Mom's. So, I had to go to Cookie Training, get all the forms and find out everything there was to do. Being in charge of cookies is harder than you think. Appreciate your cookie moms.
Our cookie sale started October 2nd and ended the 18th. The five of us with our leaders sold over 500 boxes. We were proud.
On October 18th, we all went together to the haunted Mansion. As soon as we got in the door, Kelly K. and Kim our leader got scared and left. I was the pillar of courage who led the remaining 4 through the maze. It was pretty cool.
On November 10th, some of us attended a Gold Award training meeting. They told us about all the things we needed to know and do to earn our Gold Award. My friends from my troop and I were surprised that we were the only people who wanted to be there an were genuinly excited about our Gold Award. Everyone else was there because their mom's made them.
The weekend of November 13th, we had our first camping trip as Seniors. Friday night we all slept at Kim's lovely home and had a great slumber party. Saturday morning we packed up and went out to the camp grounds. We stayed at Windy Meadows. We had an awesome lodge with a big circular brick fireplace and we got to sleep on lofts! It was so cool! We didn't have any electricity or plumbing either, which was kinda cool.
On Sunday morning, we were eating cereal, and in one of the boxes was Dot. Now's she's our mascot. She lives with me.
On December 1, we had a massage therapist come in to help us with our requirements for our Stress to Success patch. We all got massages. It was so cool.
In December we also sponsored a family. We collected money and went shopping and bought Christmas presents and stuff like that for them.
December 19th, we all got dressed up nice and went out to dinner together. We thought it'd be fun to put on dresses and go somewhere nice. Afterwards we went out for ice cream. We had so much fun that night, we were laughing non-stop.
January 6th was the QSP magazine sale kick-off. Our troop made all the arrangements. All the troops in our service unit got together and we had a bowling party. Kelly H. is on the bowling team at her school, so she's pretty good. Kelly K. and I teamed up and combined our scores--and we still had the lowest one. We were proud though. Woohoo!
We all slept over at Kim's house January 30th. Her house is really cool and we love going there. It's so much fun. This was a spontaneous thing, but those are always the most fun.
February 16th we threw a surprise party for Kelly H. at our meeting. It was her sweet sixteen. I made a funfetti cake and we all just hung out. It was so much fun.
March 6th, we attended the world's largest baby shower. It's going to be in the Guiness Book of World Records. It was our areas Service for Sucuss project. Afterwards, we hung out at Kim's. It was cool.
March 27, we're at Whitney's house right now working onthe page. We're having a kick-butt sleepover. The Kellys are playing darts, and Whitney and I, the more intelligent members of the troop are working on the page. We are cool.
In addition to that, every third Thursday of the month, one of goes to the Council Meeting and find out all the things that are going on. We report back to the other troop members at our meeting the following Tuesday and fill everyone in.
We organized and carried out a local food drive. We dropped bags off at people's houses with a message explaining the drive. The people filled their bag with food and left it out on their step a week later for us to pick up. We collected of 200 bags of food.
We went to Encampment in May. All the troops in our Service Unit camp together. We're the only Senior troop. We wore togas and helped out with crafts. It was great.
We planned a trip to Thousand Islands in June. We sold lots of cookies and Entertainment books, and it all paid off.
We stayed in a cottage near the water and did tons of super cool activities like white water rafting, go-karting, a lunch cruise, a castle tour, and other cool stuff. It was a great time.
We had a court of awards in August. We all got the patch we earned together, and I got three more. Most of us received our Leadership Awards. I got Perfect Attendence.
We visited some friends of our leaders in late August. This is when Jaimie joined our troop. They live on an island and it's pretty cool there. They had a fair going on that day. Jaimie and I entered the water balloon tossing contest. We lasted pretty long.
We started our new year in September. Christina joined and the week after that so did Brigid. We had our cookie sale again, once again with me as the cookie manager. For the first time in the history of our girl scouting careers, someone sold more cookies than Kelly H. It was me ;)
We're having a sleepover holiday party on December 28th. We're all pretty psyched.
That's all we've done so far. You can check out all the stuff we have planned in our Plans section.
