BOYCOTT EATON'S
EATON'S SELLS SCABBY PRODUCTS
Since March 23rd, 38 women of UNITE local 1764 in Trenton have been on
strike against JB Fields', the maker of Eaton's house brand of socks.
The company is cutting the wages of its women workers from $12/hr to
$7.07/hr. While the company claims this is only a minimum and that wages
can go up to $10.45/hr if certain onerous production targets are met
these targets are impossible and realistically all the women would end up
making the $7.07 minimum. Meanwhile, 12 men working at the plant have had
their wages cut from $14.45/hr to $13/hr without a quota
requirement (the men, and several women have been crossing the
line).
Eaton's is one of JB Field's biggest customers and is helping the company
break the strike by buying and selling its scab-produced goods.
Please help the women of UNITE 1764
Boycott Eaton's! Do not shop there until Eaton's Canada agrees
to stop carrying J.B. Fields' products while that company refuses to come
to a fair settlement with its workers.
