18th NIAGARA WOLF CUBS
WINTER KIT LIST
Dear
Parents,
The
following is the kit list for the winter camp.
Please do not forget to help your cub check his gear before camp to
ensure that everything on the kit list has been packed, and that nothing has
been added or left out, (by mistake of course)
Please
note that it is the responsibility of the cub’s parent to label each article of
clothing with the cub’s name. (Initials
don’t work; we have several cubs with the same set of initials)
Clothing:
Warm
pajamas, (a tracksuit is preferable.)
3
pair of underwear, (in addition to the ones worn to camp)
3
pair of warm socks
3
tee shirts,
2
sweatshirts (a hooded sweatshirt is a blessing at times)
1
pair of sweat pants, (for outdoor wear, not for sleeping)
1
pair of jeans or play slacks (in addition to those worn to camp)
1
pair of winter boots. (Rubber boots do not keep the feet warm for very long)
1
pair of running shoes (for indoor use)
1
pair of long underwear (in can get cold outside)
A
lightweight poncho or rain suit. (We
will be outside for most of the weekend, in spite of the weather.)
A
woolen toque or winter hat which covers the ears
1
pair of woolen mittens.
1
lightweight jacket or windbreaker, large enough to wear a sweatshirt under.
1
coat hanger (also labeled with cub’s name)
Bedding:
Sleeping
bag, (or two heavy blankets)
Plastic
ground sheet; (garbage bags are too slippery)
Bubble
pad or foam pad
Extra
blanket (to put under the sleeping bag)
Pillow
and pillowcase
Medication:
All medications must be handed
to the scouter in charge of medications on Friday night. The medication should be in the package or
bottle it was purchased in, and should be clearly marked with the camper’s
name. The medication {s) should be
placed in a zip lock baggie with written instructions as to amount, times to be
taken and reactions to look for. Please
be sure that the owner’s name and directions for administering the medication
are visible from the outside of the bag.
