Career Objectives:
A Challenging career, dealing with all aspects of the modern ideals of business, where I can fully exploit my talents and experience.
Work Experience:
Boy Scouts of
Counselor for Eagle Bound & High Adventure Instructor
From: March 1992 To: August 1992
This became one of my most defining work experiences. That knowledge and experience has shaped me both as a person, and as a professional. Many of the leadership skills and knowledge I acquired in the B.S.A. has truly set me apart from my coworkers and given me a decisive edge.
McDonald’s Restaurants:
Held all positions starting from a cook to a Shift Manager and Equipment Manager.
From: August 1993 To: June 1996
This is where I developed my skills as a leader and put them to practice in a traditional work environment. I look upon this time with pride and even today I carry with me many of the experiences I had there.
Builder & Forklift Operator
From: July 1996 To: November 1996
This is where I truly learned independence and self-reliance. As a builder, you are responsible for you own set of trusses, from start till completion. If you miss-calculate, then the job is ruined and there is now one else to blame. As a Forklift Operator, I utilized organization. Without organizational skills, I would have mixed orders together as well as cost the company time and money.
Telecom:
Representative
From: December 1996 To: January 1997
This was a very short introduction to the world of Teleservices. This was the single most profound mistake I have made this far. This company was both dishonest to their employees and their clients. Not to mention that actual Business owners who were being harassed. This could only be described as a learning experience!
BaseCamp:
Counselor at
From: January 1997 To: May 1997
This was a before and after school day care for elementary students which was both sponsored and facilitated by the school. This was a great opportunity to use all of my Scouting Knowledge to entertain and enrich the children I watched after. This was a part time position that I loved.
Arby’s Family Restaurants:
Cook to Trainer
From: January 1997 To: May 1997
I began as a cook and quickly cross-trained in order for
advancement. I became trainer and was
destined for Management; however, I was enticed by an advertisement in the
paper for the
Order Filler to Cross dock Supervisor
From: July 1997 To December 1997
This was a fast-paced work environment full of problem solving and deadlines. I learned how to use time management as well as figuring things out for myself and making those crucial last minute decisions. This is where I truly realized my potential under pressure was higher than ever.
Sitel Corporation:
Customer
From: January 1998 To August 1998
This was a customer service oriented position d3ealing with
the ALL STATE MOTOR CLUB. I also handled
the
Center Partners Incorporated:
Customer Service/Ideal Dial Agent
From: September 1998 to October 1998
This was a customer service and “soft sales” position dealing with the Ideal Dial Corporation. I truly enjoyed this job and was looking towards advancement. Unfortunately, CPI (Center Partners Incorporated) was forced to cancel their contract with Ideal Dial. Currently, there were not any positions available, so all of the Ideal Dial agents were left without a job.
Center Partners Incorporated:
Customer Service/Orcom
From: January 1999 To: May 1999
This was a customer service and “soft sales” position dealing with KNEnergy/Simple Choice. This was another exceptional position with real opportunity. It Proves CPI’s ability to continue to keep high standards in work ethics while making a profit and a sizeable contribution to the business world. The knowledge and experience I gained in this position lead me to a promotion within the group.
Center Partners, Incorporated:
Orcom Team Lead
From: May 1999 To: September 1999
At this point I was promoted to Orcom Team Lead. In this position I was responsible for 6-8 agents and for the second shift as a whole. I was also given Monitoring tasks associated with Quality Assurance for all of the agents in the group. This has served as an incredible experience and wonderful opportunity for me to take what I had learned as an agent and use it to strengthen the group. I brought a fresh approach and a lot of ideas to the table. I set out to implement a number of morale-boosting and team strengthening programs which were a total success. My team quickly rose to become the top selling group. I paid particular attention to the overall morale for the entire product group. I quickly found that my willingness to “listen” opened communication between both the Leadership group and the agents. This allowed for more efficient handling of problems and concerns. I was given the opportunity to hone my balancing skills, concerning task management. It was difficult to find time to complete the numerous monitoring duties, while attending to the various needs of my team as well as the group. I met the challenge head on and improved my “Multitasking skills” ten-fold. This was another fine addition to my work experience.
Center Partners Incorporated:
Customer Service/Technical Support Agent for Verifone
From: September 1999 To: August 2000
After it became apparent that the Orcom group was going to drastically downsize, I applied and was offered a position in the Verifone group. As a Verifone agent, I was responsible for the technical service of Verifone Credit Card Terminals for various clients. I truly enjoyed working with the exceptionally talented and knowledgeable people that made up this fine group. It was refreshing to have a dedicated group of agents that were so easy to work with. I have also enjoyed the problem-solving aspect that was quite lacking in many of the previous positions I have had. Of course, I had to tap into my Customer service experience to successfully communicate and assist the very diverse set of clients that this account serviced.
Center Partners Incorporated:
Customer Service/Technical Support Agent for Qwest
From: August 2000 To: Present
Center Partners, after winning the Qwest accounts, decided that they no longer wished to renew their contract with Verifone. With the new accounts we gained with Qwest all of us involved with Verifone were able to transfer to the various Qwest accounts. This job included handling billing and technical support for Qwest Choice TV and Online. We also address the combined bill which includes telephone services. Eventually the technical side was pulled “in house” by Qwest but we continue to handle the billing for the account. This is similar to my experience with Orcom, but instead of Direct TV and Utilities it is Digital Cable and Online with Phone services.
Academic Goals:
At this time, I am currently reviewing my options, desires, and priorities concerning my major and/or Majors. I am positive that I will continue my education although I feel that it is a waste to continue with school until I have a true focus.
