Robbie's mother is Alabamian and his father is a northerner. Robbie has been educated at the Faulkner State and Mary G. Montgomery High School, both in AL. He currently attends the University of Mobile in Saraland, Alabama. In high school Robbie goofed off in class and at times, seemed more interested in entertaining his classmates than doing any of his work. But his troubles concentrating in school didn't stifle his broadcast career dreams.
Robbie's acting debut came on stage in New Orleans while reading a drama piece at Model Search America. He was finally signed at the age of eighteen, and struggled to break into the entertainment industry through obscure commercials and TV shows.
Tomlin took part in over ten commercials in all, and eventually procured guest appearances on such television shows as "Cover stories" & "AJM". Robbie had bit part in the film "The Insider", most of which was extra work.
Robbie then moved on to host Prime Time TV Show. This was a family style show which had positive morals. Prime Time TV Show lasted nearly two years before the other cast members and Robbie decided to move on to bigger things. For Robbie, that meant moving on to other television shows. In fact, Robbie would host a variety of new shows such as 2.0 (CTN / Produced at USA), Blue Highways (ABC - Still hasn't aired), Travel Spot Weekly (Independent), and the independent DVD release, Spring Break America (Due out in early 2003). This could be a very good time for the supporters of Robbie and staff. Robbie could very well do a decent job on his new ventures. But for now, only time will tell.
"I love what I am doing, it has been fabulous up to date. I am very thankful for my opportunities and I am very aware that it could all taken away from me tomorrow." ... Robbie G. Tomlin
Robbie thinks of himself as just a grass cutter. Nothing more. For anyone who knows him also knows that this is true.
