Malone is an American
journalist who volunteered to go on the expedition to document it. He was hoping it would be the story of the
century.
Before Malone left on the expedition, he was engaged to his sweetheart, Glady's. But after more then
a year on the plateau, he hoped that she had moved on and found happiness. After a year on the Plateau
Ned learned to move on with his life as well and acknowledge that his life had changed because of his time there.
During World War 1, Ned worked as a war correspondent. Many time risking his own life for a story. He became well
known for his war stories but his journalistic nature still drove him for the big story. Malone constantly wrote
down the adventure's the expedition encountered and tried to capture the essence and complete experience of
the plateau in his journals.
Since his time on the
plateau, Malone has matured from a young man who had just recently entered adulthood
to a grown man. He is an eager and enthusiastic young man. He is also loyal and trustworthy. He has also become
more familiar with weapons and self defence as well. He tries to get him and his friends out of difficult situations through
team work. His has become a brother to the other members of the expedition. Except with Veronica whose
relationship is developing romantically.
