*Two weeks later*
A small moving truck drove up Brian and Nick's driveway. Sabrina soon followed in Alicia's gold BMW while the boys were coming out of the backyard. They seemed very happy but Sabrina saw Brian's smile fade away when he noticed that Alicia wasn't with her. A second later Nick was opening the door of the car for her and smiled.
"Hi baby! How are you?"
"Fine, thanks." She smiled at Nick and turned to Brian, "Don't worry, she's will be here any minute. She just wanted to check some things out."
At the same moment, a taxi turned around the corner of the street and stopped in front of the house. Alicia got out of the taxi in a yellow summer dress, her long blond hair falling down on her shoulders. Brian rushed over to her, took her in his arms and started to turn in cercles. They were both laughing and feeling wonderful. Without putting her down, he walked toward the house, opened the door and walked in.
"Welcome home sweetie!"
She looked in his beautiful blue eyes and she knew she was very lucky to have him. She kissed him softly, her arms around his neck. He then gently put her on her feet and took her hand.
Nick and Sabrina came in the room and Brian looked anxiously at Nick, who nodded. He cleared his throat. "Girls, there's something we have to tell you." He gave another look at Nick. "Go ahead Nick."
"Well, we have to go on tour for three months."
"Again?" Sabrina sighed. She made an effort to remember that this was the life she chose, the only one she had ever wanted. But sometimes she found it very hard to stay in Florida while Nick was touring around the world with millions of girls wanting him so bad they would of done anything to get him.
"Sab?"
"Yeah?"
"You're OK with this? Do you want to come with me?"
"No, I'll stay here this time. I can't always follow you around like this. I've just started school, remember? I'm gonna miss you like hell baby, but I understand you have to go. Where are you going?"
"It's a Europe tour." Brian answered. "We'll make a few stop in England, France, Germany, Belgium, Greece and Spain, among others others. We were supposed to finally start to record that new album but our manager said the fans in Europe are mad that we haven't been there for what they consider a long time. The next tour will probably be in Canada."
"Oh, Sab, maybe we could go with them on that one and visit our families. It has been such a long time since we've seen them."
"I guess so."
"What kind of answer is that?" Alicia asked her, a bit pissed off by Sab's attitude.
"The only one I'll give you for now." She said, with the same annoyed tone of voice.
Nick gave a desperate look to Alicia. She didn't knew what to tell him. She would have to talk to Sabrina about all this.
"When are you guys leaving?" She said, changing the subject.
"Tomorrow morning at around 4h30am. The plane leaves at 6h00." Brian said.
Alicia nodded and she smiled. "I guess we won't sleep a lot tonight, what do you think?"
*The next day*
It was 1h30 pm when Sabrina came down the stairs of their new house. They were now living with their boyfriends. She was still wearing her baby blue satin boxers and the matching tank top. Her hair were undone, her eyes were red and she looked horrible.
Alicia was working on an article when she saw her friend. "Sab, what are you still doing in your pj?" She looked more closely at her friend. "Did you sleep well? Honestly, you don't look very good."
Sabrina sat in front of Alicia at the kitchen table. "That's because I don't feel good. Would you please give me a cup of coffee?"
"Yeah, sure." She got up and gave Sab a cup of hot fresh coffee. "Now, tell me what's wrong."
"You know what's wrong. Do you see Nick around?" She turned her head and looked around her. "I don't. And he won't be here for another three months."
"Sab, he's on tour. It's his job. You knew that when you started to go out with him."
"I kow, I know. But I didn't thought it would be that hard."
"I don't know what to tell you. You're not thinking of leaving him, are you?"
"No. Not for now. It's more complicated then that. We're engaged, remember? Don't you miss Brian when he's away?"
"Of course I do. But do you know what's the difference between you and me?"
"No… what is it?" She sounded curious.
"I have a job that demands a lot of work too. So when one of us has to work the other has something he can turn to. It's equal, you see? Nick has the Backstreet Boys, but what do you have? Maybe school, but it doesn't really count since it's not something you like."
"So what exactly are you saying? That I should get a hobby?" It sounded like a weird idea to her and she didn't knew how that would make things better when Nick was gone.
"Do you remember why you came to Orlando in the first place?"
That question took her by surprise. "… To have fun and be with you, I think."
"That's not it. We've been talking about that since we're little girls. What did you always wanted to become Saby?"
Sabrina thought about it for awhile when it flashed in her head. "I wanted to sing and act! Oh, Ali, how could I have forgetten that?"
"You came here and you were already in love with Nick. You didn't gave yourself a chance to start. But it's never too late. I have a lot of contacts in this business. I could get you an agent and contracts if you are sure that this is what you want."
"That's what I want. But it can never be that simple. What about Nick and I? He's always gone. If I'm not here when he comes back, what's gonna be left of us?"
"It's called arranged schedules. If you become an actress, we can always work things out. If you choose a singing career, it's going to be harder, but it's possible. "
"Do you remember that summer we did a scary movie at our trailer with my sister, your brother and another friend? We had such a great time. I think that's it. I want to be an actress."
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes, I am. More than ever."
"Alright then, let me just make a few phone calls. You'll have an agent in a day or two. You'll have to do some photoshoots for your portfolio, auditions and stuff like that."
"Oh, Alicia, can you please be my agent? At least for now?"
"I guess I could start you off. But when I think it's needed, you'll have a real agent OK? Deal?"
"Deal!"
*A month later*
Sabrina had worked very hard in the past four weeks. She had spent two days in a photo studio and she had went to several auditions. Alicia had called everyone she knew, but no one had called until this day. Alicia was waiting for Sabrina, who was at school.
When she finally came back, she looked exhausted. She went straight to the livingroom and sat on the couch. "Hey Ali."
"How was your day?"
"I had a big math exam but it went OK. I studied until 2h am yesterday and now I'm so tired."
"Well, I have good news for you!"
Sabrina turned around. "You do? Tell me!!!"
"You're going to play in a movie Sab! I'm so proud of you!"
Sabrina jumped into Alicia's arms and holded her very tight. "I'm so happy Ali." She pulled away. "What's the movie?"
"You're going to be Devon Sawa's girlfriend in a movie call 'My Dream Is You'. All I know for now is that it's a romantic comedy and you have one of the lead roles!"
"Wow! When are we filming?"
"In a week. You're going to California."
"What? I have to go all the way there? How much time will it take?"
"Sab, Orlando is the best place to start a singing career. Hollywood is the film capital. You'll have to go there from time to time, you don't have a choice. It's going to take about two months, so you should be here when Nick comes back. Isn't that what you wanted? Not miss him that much? Now you'll have something to do and you'll make money and have your own life. Of course he'll be part of it but he won't be everything."
Sabrina smiled. "You're absolutly right. I am so excited about all this! We're going to California for two months Ali!!!"
"I'm not coming with you Sab. We had a deal remember? You need a real agent now. I called one of my friend, Steven Garcia. He's very good. It's for the best, believe me."
Sabrina's excitment was gone. "Oh, Alicia, please! Look at what you just did! You got me a lead role with Devon Sawa! You are a great agent, my best friend and I need you around me. Please." She looked about to cry.
"Saby, my career, my boyfiend, my house, my life, everything is here. I am so glad for you but that's one of those things you have to do alone. I'll always be around whenever you need me and I'll come to see you in California for a couple of days but that's about it."
Sabrina didn't wanted to insist. She knew that when Alicia takes a decision, there's no way to change her mind. "I understand."
"Why don't you go call Nick? He'll be so happy for you!"
With a guilty look on her face, Sab told her friend. "I haven't told Nick about all this yet. I didn't wanted to bother him with it because I didn't really thought it would work out."
Alicia examined Sab's face. "You are such a bad lier girl. Tell me why you didn't talk about it with him."
"Well, I'm not sure he'll be thrilled with the idea. I think he wants me to marry him, stay at home and have a bunch of babies."
"That's not a fact and I don't think Nick is like that, althought I don't know him like you do. But his career is so important to him, he should understand yours is important for you too. Sabrina, do you remember what happened when I found out that you were going out with Nick and you hadn't told me?"
"Of course I remember, how could I forget? You think it's going to be the same thing?" Alicia nodded. "OK, I'll call him." She went to her bedroom and sat on the bed. She took a deep breath and dialed his number. "Hi Nicky, it's me."
*Thirty minutes later*
"You were right Ali. He got very mad because I hadn't told him before but finally he was really happy for me and he told me to go for it! He added that he would always back me up with his support."
"That's nice! Well, better start packing. I'll go with you for two days, just enough to make sure everything's fine. We're leaving tomorrow for Hollywood Sabrina!"
