Chapter 5
*At Alicia’s Appartment*
“I’m so happy to be here with you Alicia. When will I have to start school?” They were in Orlando since Wednesday and now it was Friday. “I called your school yesterday and you’ll have to start on Monday. You can walk, it takes about 10 minutes. You’ll have to work harder because the school year has already started.”
“Monday is too soon. I had hope I would have at least 2 weeks off to visit and make some friends.”
“You just had two months of vacations Sab and I already told you that you will have a lot of work to do to catch up with the others.”
“Alright, I’ll go. ... Ali?”
Alicia was trying to work on an article and started to find Sabrina very annoying. “Yeah?”
“Are you going to go see Brian soon?”
She was surprised by the question. “Why do you ask?”
“Just to know.”
“He called me twice but I don’t have any time. I have to give this article tomorrow and if I don’t work on it I won’t finish.”
“Ali, be carefull not to loose him. He’s just so perfect for you.” She knew maybe she had pushed it a little too far but Alicia was her best friend after all.
Sabrina had all of Ali’s attention now. “Why would I loose him?”
“I don’t know. Maybe because he isn’t seeing you enough or you don’t call or visit. I know you enough to know just how much your work means to you but maybe he doesn’t.”
Alicia didn’t answered. Sabrina had a good point here. “I’ll call him now. Thanks Sab.”
They smiled at each other.
*At the boys’ house*
Brian wasn’t in a good mood and Nick was driving him crazy since the morning. “Nick, would you please leave me alone?!?”
Nick knew that Brian missed Alicia and he hoped that she would call so his friend would feel better. He knew he had been getting on Brian’s nerves but now it was time for a serious talk. “Brian, why don’t you call her?”
“I called twice.” he snapped.
“Why don’t you call again?”
Brian turned around and looked at Nick. “Why should I? If she wants to talk to me she has a phone too you know.”
“Fine. So why don’t we go see them? I would like to see Sabrina again!”
Brian noticed Nick’s sparkling eyes everytime he talked about Sabrina. “I know you would.” Brian smiled. “Alright, I guess we can try!”
The phone rang. “Hello?”, Nick answered. “... oh, hi Alicia!” He made a big childish smile to Brian. “Yeah, he’s here, wait a sec!” He passed the phone to Brian.
“Hello?” He said in his sexy voice. “Hi sweetie! How are you? ... Of course you can! I’ll be waiting for you! ... Me too! And Alicia, I missed you. ... Bye.” He smiled, ignoring Nick who was making funny faces in his back.
*An hour later, at the boys house*
The doorbell rang and Howie went to answer. He didn’t recognize Alicia at first. “Yes? May I help you?”
“Hi Howie! How are you?”
Brian came running, looking handsome has always, and kissed her in front of Howie who was wondering who was that beautiful girl. He hadn’t been home a lot lately. “Brian?” He obviously wanted to be introduce.
“Oh, sorry D. This is Alicia, she’s the reporter who did the interview with us about three or four weeks ago.”
“Nice to meet you.” She shook his hand.
“It’s my pleasure! I’m sorry, but I was heading to a party. I hope to see you soon Alicia!” He gave her kisses on both cheeks and left. Nick came in the room, very calm and extreamly good looking.
“Hello Alicia.” He gave her a hug. “How are you today?” Brian and Alicia looked at each other.
“What’s wrong with you Frack?” Brian asked him, concerned.
“Nothing. Where is Sabrina?”
Brian laughed. “That’s why you’re acting like that.”
“I’m here!” She had just caught up with Alicia. She had redone her hair in the car. “Hi everyone! How are you?” She smiled at Brian and then at Nick. He came near her and took her hand.
“Come Sab, I have something to show you!” He lead her downstairs.
“Well, I guess Sab has a new friend hey?” Brian said.
“Yeah. What do you what to do sweet heart?” Alicia asked him. He easily guessed what she had in mind. She smiled at him and ran upstairs. He looked at her and smiled. He had never been happier.
*Downstairs*
“Here’s the studio and that’s the party room.” Sabrina was very impressed by the house. It was so big and modern. “This is my favorite place in the whole house.” He opened the door and Sabrina was surprised. It was a small room with a couch, a normal size television, a little table and a place where were stored hundreds of movies.
“Why do you like this room so much?”
“Nobody comes down here because of the huge television upstairs. I don’t even think the boys remember that this place even exist. It’s kind of hidden. I come here when I feel like being alone. I’ve never showed it to anyone.” Sabrina was honored by the vote of confidence. “Would you like to watch a movie?”
“Sure. Do you have “She’s All That”? I love that movie!”
“Of course I have it. Let’s watch it!” He was happy she had choose a romantic comedy. It was perfect.
He put the movie in the VCR, closed the lights and he sat beside Sabrina on the couch. She got into the movie right away but he couldn’t keep his eyes off her. ‘She is so beautiful’, he thought. At the middle of the movie, he couldn’t wait anymore. He gently took her head in his hand and kissed her. It was the most passionate kiss she had ever received. The movie ended and they decided to go up to see the others. Sabrina suddenly stopped Nick in the middle of the stairs.
“Nick, I don’t want Alicia to know about this.”
“Why not?” He didn’t understood. “Isn’t she your best friend?”
She took her time before answering. “She is, but if she knows, she’s going to be too protective. I know her. She is two years older than me and sometimes she acts more like my big sister. I respect her a lot but I don’t want her to know about us for now.”
He nodded. “I’ll have trouble hidding everything from Brian. In fact, I don’t know if I can.”
“Do you think he would tell Ali?”
“Probably. Those two are very close now.”
“Then please don’t tell him. It’s only for a little while.”
“I won’t, I promise.” He kissed her and they went upstairs.
