Our History!

It has been said that the Blytheville Emergency Squad is perhaps the oldest operating Search and Rescue (SAR) unit in the State of Arkansas. A tradition of service to the Mississippi County area for over 35 years.

The Blytheville Emergency Squad is a multi-disaplinary, all volunteer SAR and Heavy Rescue Team. The squad is responsible for all extrication in the North East section of Mississippi County, Arkansas. We are tasked with water rescue for the entire county, this includes 50 miles of the Mississippi River.

The squad also handles all of the technical rescue for the county and part of the "boot heel" of Missouri. These operations include, but are not limited to, high angel rescue, low angle rescue, agricultural rescue, and industrial rescue.

The Blytheville Emergency Squad is a non-profit organization that relies on donations for our financial needs. We are a 501 (c) 3 corporation and all donations are tax deductable. We remain non-political by not accepting any state or local funding. We have always been blessed with a wonderful community and industrial support for our needs.
