Vivian Burns
AKA: Blanche DuMaurier
Ironically, Vivian was born at the Grace Hospital in Ottawa.
Vivian was what we might call an Xtreme child. She did not shy away
from the deadly staircase or those fascinating electrical sockets.
Her parents, concerned that she would grow up to become a bungee instructor
or cliff diver, enlisted the bruised littl Viv into ballet class.
What followed was a life-long career in classical ballet, jazz and tap.
Vivian's interest in becoming a soap opera actresshelped
to rekindle her parents' fear that she would not make a more reliable career
choice. To calm them, Vivian graduated from Ottawa University with
a B.Ed.
Still unable to get all thos episodes of "Fame" out of
her head, Vivian headed for Toronto to study musical theatre at the Randolph
School of the Arts. Her stage credits include: "Cassie" in "A Chorus
Line" at Orpheus Theatre in Ottawa, "Squeaky Fromme" in "Assassins," and
"Angelina" in "Trial By Jury."
Vivian's first audition for television was in 1998 for
the role of Blanche in "Butch Patterson: Private Dick." After playting
the straight-woman on the show for two years, rumous has it Blanche is
about to turn over a new, less pristine leaf. Vivian is thrilled
to be playing Butch's side-kick and looks forward to exploring Blanche's
darker side.
After ten years teaching dance, Vivian opened her own
dance studio earlier this year, called Allegro Danceworks Inc. She
is married and lives with her husband Paul in Ottawa. |

Susan Brooks
AKA: Debbie Hitler
Susan Brooks was born dead on a farm in Abbotsford, B.C.
Her father was able to get her breathing again by clearing the crap out
of her throat, and from there... the screaming began. A generally
bad child and somewhat troubled teen who showed no interest in pursuing
a "real" career, Susan seemed destined to become an actress.
While living in Ottawa, she won a Reel Award for her
role in the NFB short film "Split Shift." The film is still shown
on The Knowledge Network and Rogers. After recieving much encouragement,
Susan made the move to Vancouver where for three years she studied with
a variety of professional acting coaches.
In the spring of 1999 she returned to Ottawa to play
the lead role in the feature film "Juiced." It aired on City TV in
April of 2000 and is airing again on Bravo. THe film, and in particular
Susan herself, picked up rave reviews at the San Francisco Indie Fest,
Local Heroes Film Festival and by the local newspapers. Other acting
credits include: "Unearthed" on The Space Channel and various voices on
The Comedy Network series "Kevin Spencer."
PLaying Debbie Hitler on "Butch Patterson: Private Dick"
has been a refreshing change from the usual roles as waitresses, hookers,
white trash and single moms. Debbie Hitler is a conniving criminal
with an obsessive wood fetish. Not satisfied with being the gangster
moll she once was, she plots to control her husband (by drugging him) and
take over his empire of evil. The COmedy Network series is shooting
its third season in June 2000.
On a personal note, Susan is busy writing a television
series and a feature film. She enjoys camping with her very handsome
husband, prime rib, stinky soap, petting her cat, and the company of fellow
Butch cast members. She intenseley dislikes soy milk iced tazzo chai
lattes. |

Sarah Van Diepen
AKA: Jasmine Griffen
Sarah began her life in Ottawa. While still an infant,
she slept in a drawer because her parents weren't sure if they wanted to
keep her. No, that's not true, Sarah's parents are very nice people
and I'm sure they had a good, practical reason for not wanting her.
Sarah was a geek in school. She wore glasses and
excelled in Math and Science. During her high school years it was
rumoured that the creepy Sarah was a witch. This has not been confirmed
one way or the other. From there she moved on to study theatre performance
at Concordia University. After obtaining a degree in International
Development she moved to the mountains of Ecuador. Here she performed
volunteer work, assissting the indigenous people in a very poor area of
the counrty.
Her theatre credits include: "Walking on Water" at Ottawa's
On The Verge Festival, and "Cigarettes and Chocolate" written by Anthony
Minghella and produced by Sarah herself. She has also produced and performed
in the play "Not Spain" by Richard Sanger.
This summer Sarah will be playing the lead role in Distinct
Feature's feature film "A Taste of Jupiter." She will also be returning
to season three of "Butch Patterson"Private Dick" as the conniving
adulteress bitch Jasmine Griffen.
Of personal interest, Sarah enjoys travel, kickboxing,
swimming in the Gatineau River and soy milk iced tazzo lattes from Starbucks.
She is a self-proclaimed sissy about air quality but still plans to move
to Toronto. In the meantime she is shopping for a mask, rubber suit
and special boots. |

David A.V. Elver
AKA: Vance Van Vandervan
Born in Canada's capital city, Ottawa, for all the Americans
reading this, David spent the first 18 years of his life aspiring to one
goal: becoming the youngest Supreme Court Justice in the history of the
country. At the age of 19, he was well of his way, having recieved
an offer from the Harvard School of Business. At the age of 20, however,
he saw a play and was immediately hooked.
With his new goal in life secured (to get more work than
David McCallum), David pursued it with vigour. He earned degrees
in both Theatre and Literature. Acting at a furious pace, he co-founded
his own stage company by the age of 24. Through this group, The Ottawa
Repertory Co., David directed and performed in "unknown" classics from
around the wolrd -- Russian, German, Irish, Canadian, English and American.
A strong believer in constantly honing his craft, David also trained with
some of Canada's top acting coaches.
In 1997, David auditioned somewhat skeptically, for his
first on-camera role; a small part in a new comedy series. He did
not get that part but was offered something better, a recurring principal
role. The series, "Butch Patterson: Private Dick" became one of the
highest-rated cable series on Canadian television. David's character,
the very villainous Vance Van Vanderva (that's a lot of vans) was renewed
for season two and will be seen again in the upcoming season trhee.
Meanwhile, DAvid has worked on a variety of commercials,
videos and CD-ROMs. He has also made appearances on Alliance Atlantis'
"Justice," Sovicom's fashion industry series "Diva" and the Paramount/Motion
International co-produced television espionage drama "Largo Winch."
His voice has been featured on "Kevin Spencer" as well as the CD-ROM version
of "Wheel of Fortune."
David is also a self-employed writer, and avid theatre-goer,
likes tea, travel and has a lovely girlfriend named Louisa. He is the manliest
man I know. |

John Ng
AKA: The Swede
John was born in Kowloon, Hong Kong. He moved to
Ottawa for unkown reasons, but we suspect a scandal. After recieving
a kick to the head from an older brother, John ended up in hospital.
He later learned he was not the only famous actor int he hospital that
night... Bruce Lee was also there but didn't survive. We are not
implying in any way that "John" had anything to do with that. It
is merely in interesting coincidence, nothing more.
He graduated from Ottawa University with a B.A. with
honours in Theatre Directing. John was featured in the first season
of Butch Patterson: Private Dick" as "Jimmy." Jimmy dies of a heart
attack while on assignment from Tommy and Debbi to kill Butch and Blance.
However, a good, non-union actor is hard to come bay in Ottawa, so John
returned to the show in season two as "The Swede."
While shooting season two of "Butch," John was simeltaneously
working on "House of Luk," a feature film by Dinstinct Features starring
Pat Morita and Micheal Moriority. The film is scheduled for television
release later this year. John recently wrapped the theatre production
of "Noah's Ark 747" written by Silvija Jestrovic.
John's favourite tv show is Law and Order. His
favourite companion is his Sharpei dog. The dog is called Ho Fook
after the character John played in "House of Luk." John is a rabid Montreal
Expos fan and Montreal Canadiens fan. |

David McCallum
AKA: Tommy Rubella
Born and raised in Montreal, David was a mischevious mimic
from an early age. His natural talent for impersonations combined
with years of vocal training is quickly turning David into one of the hottest
actors in town. His overwhelming success of late is not at all envied
by the other "Butch" cast members. They are not jealous or resentful.
They have promised not to kill David, but did vow never to speak to him
again.
David began his on-screen career with a principal role
in the feature film "Rebel High." Soon after he paared in the CTV
series "Denim Blues." In 1998, David landed the starring role in
Gilbert and Sullivan's "Trial By Jury." Later that year he was cast
as crime boss Tommy Rubella in the wildly successful hit show "Butch Patterson:
Private Dick." Other acting credits include: "Undercover Angel" with
Yasmine Bleeth and Dean Winters, the alien host on The COmedy Network
series "The Last Band on the Planet," and "The Worst Witch" on YTV.
The flexible voices of David McCallum can be heard regularly on The Comedy
Network's "Kevin Spencer," as well as an endless list of commercials,
corporate videos and video productions. Recently, David was cast
in the Frank Oz film "The Score." The film stars Robert DeNiro and
Edward Norton, and is being shot in Montreal this summer.
David holds a Masters Degree in Library and Information
Science from the University of Toronto. When not acting, he provides
group facilitation and information management consulting services.
His leisure activities include karaoke, rollerblading, squash, hanging
out at the cottage and gossipping with Hitler.
