Cool stories in Hot Weather
Part One: Location Shots
I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Ocnus Productions, and
to watch some location filming in July and August of 2000. It was, perhaps,
the most fun I'd had in a long time (ok, I had a pretty lousy summer, but
that's no excuse). I took a bunch of pictures, and ended up with
a couple of neat memories for the ol' mental scrapbook. Here, I'll
take you on a tour of my head:
This is the first place I stopped after I got off the Queensway
in Ottawa. I got lost trying to find the building, and nearly got
into an accident trying to turn around. But I stopped at the driveway
and took a picture of the front part of the building with the official
sign. There isn't an Ocnus sign there, unfortunately, but you know
it's there. Really!! It is.
This is the bowling lane on Catherine Street where Butch was filming
that weekend. I had no trouble finding the place, and no trouble
parking, but when I got back onto Catherine Street, I had a really hard
time finding the Queensway again. I'm just not cut out to live in Ottawa,
I guess. Cheap Plug: Kent Bowling Lanes
is a really cool place, it has glow-in-the-dark
bowling, and the lane manager was really nice, and let the crew bowl on
lunch break. Is that cool or what?? Honestly!
I think Ol' Butchy might have a bit of a problem with this one...
though the sign doesn't expressly mention the banning of alcohol in the
lanes... ah well. Poor Butch.
Kind of a neat shot of the bowling lanes (13 and 14) that they
were using to film that day. After this shot, a bunch of Greg's professional
bowling staff played against me and kicked my ass. Even Greg said I made
him look good.
