Jason Reso trained at Sully's Gym in Toronto and was trained by Ron Hutchison in the fall of 1994. He was influenced by Adam Copeland (Edge) to start training after he had done so. They had been friends since they were kids.

Hewrestled under the name Christian Cage and he and Adam (under the name Sexton Hardcastle) teamed up to make the Suicide Blondes.

Jason was suggested by Adam for the WWF Training Camp. By mid 1998, he was in, and by August 1998, he was signed.

After Taka Michinoku's long title reign of the Light-Heavyweight belt, Christian defeated him to win it.
