My Likes and Dislikes

Some of my dislikes:

I am terrified of bees! I had one go down the front of my shirt when I was young and to this day I run from them as fast as I can!

Snakes are another of my dislikes! When I was young, the neighbourhood boys used to lock us girls in a shed that had a large gardener snake in it! (No lights!) No wonder I have a bad attitude toward men! hahaha

This is a BIG beef of mine! I LOVE to write and I believe in freedom of expression! I realize the need for codes of conduct but nothing should be restricted as long as safeguards are in place to protect children. Pedophiles should be shot.

Another pet peeve of mine is dealing with mean people! I am a true believer in non-violence as a way of resolving conflicts! (except for the Pedophile statement above of course!)

One of my biggest dislikes has to be about my weight! I'd like to be about 100 pounds lighter!

Some of my likes are:

I LOVE TO WRITE! I was taught by my Grandfather, John Thomas, and have been writing since I was 7 years old! You name it...I write it! Poetry, prose, short stories, editorials/opinions, plays...

The gift of gab is my special love! There is nothing better than a good healthy debate between a few same-minded individuals! Gets the creative juices flowing....

I love online life! One of my entertainment outlets is viewing online web cams! A whole other world but a huge jump for technology! It's nice to see a way for people to connect and lose their inhibitions! (There are also some pretty sick people out there, so it is prudent to be cautious.)

My FAVOURITE word! People who say yes turn me on!

Music soothes the soul! I love classic rock and anyone who knows me will tell you that I really should've been born at Woodstock! I'm a hippie at heart and proud of it!

A BIT ABOUT ME PERSONALLY

I'm 42 years old this August 2008 (which makes me a LEO). I live in Ontario, Canada with my wonderful hubby and my 23 year old son. I used to work in the automotive industry for 15 years but after the plant closed it's doors in 1998, I returned to college for one year of Mechanical Engineering. Then I took a few years off to live life and put things in perspective after a childhood friend of mine was killed in a terrible accident on hwy 401 in 1999. I now work as a Quality Assurance Lead for a technical support call centre. The recorded message you hear while you are waiting on hold: "This call may be recorded for Quality and Training Purposes" refers to people like me who listen in secretly and evaluate the technician who is helping you troubleshoot and resolve your computer problem! As you can imagine, I am a very good listener!
I am also an avid writer/poet. I discovered my talent for it when I was 7 years old.
I am the eldest of 3 children. I have a sister who lives nearby and a brother who lives in Western Canada.
My mother and step-father live in Toronto which is where I am originally from and lived until me and my siblings were taken away from my mother (I was 7) by my father who re-married a woman with 3 kids. I rarely see or speak to my real father or stepmother who raised me from the age of 7 - 16. I have 2 step-sisters and 1 step-brother whom I also rarely see except to say hello to in the grocery store. Long story but if you read my statement above about pedophiles I am sure you can guess. I hate pity so don't even go there.

Even though I love to write, I have difficulty these days finding the time...(doesn't everyone?) Someday, I plan on writing a blockbuster novel and making millions! hahaha as soon as I can figure out what topic to write about that people want to read! Sex is always popular. Violence sells also. But I'm looking for something unique. Something that speaks the truth and hits the reader between the eyes. It will come to me one day and then you will hear about me on Oprah or Ellen!
