She stood on the corner,
Handing out tracts,
Though the wind was cold,
And the sky was black;
There weren't many people,
Passing her way,
But that didn't discourage,
That woman of faith.
There were some who accepted,
Her offer that day,
A leaflet that would tell them,
How to be saved;
But one man just scowled,
As she reached out to him,
Not wanting to be reminded,
He was living in sin.
As she offered God's love,
To that needy man,
He responded in rage,
And flung out his hand;
The papers were scattered,
In the wind and rain,
As they fell at her feet,
He sneered in disdain.
Then he grabbed one up,
And tore it in two,
Saying, "I'd mind my own,
Business if I were you!"
Her heart filled with sorrow,
For that foolish man,
For he had held God's grace,
Right in his hand.
And as he hurried away,
She prayed for him,
Hoping he would pass,
Her way again;
Rejection didn't stop,
That woman of faith,
She was there on the corner,
The very next day.

Blessed are you when they
revile and persecute you
and say all kinds of evil against you
falsely for My sake.
